Job Description:

This is a strategic position responsible for strengthening technology leadership across Latin America, ensuring the consistent and resilient execution of the region’s critical priorities.

The role will also be accountable for establishing dedicated senior technical leadership, with a strong focus on stability, governance, risk management, and execution excellence.

The LATAM Regional Lead will serve as a key leader in defining and executing the regional technology strategy, reducing operational dependencies, strengthening internal decision-making capabilities, and ensuring the sustainable delivery of high-priority initiatives. This position will play a critical role in supporting business growth, addressing increasing regulatory demands, and promoting a scalable, resilient technology infrastructure aligned with the organization’s strategic objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Defines, establishes, and influences technology strategy and initiatives that drive business performance in support of the Latin America equities sales and trading business;
  • Drives execution of key strategic initiatives;
  • Partners with local broker-dealer franchise business executives and global business affiliate and technology leadership in building and delivering a cohesive regional/global strategy;
  • Partners with key stake holders in the design, development, execution and continuous improvement of LOB reporting and dashboards;
  • The role requires a strategic mindset, an ability to understand technology development, transformation and change management at-scale, a strong customer service mindset in support of our growing equities trading franchise and an ability to leverage data to manage transparently, identify risks and drive consistent delivery;
  • The ideal candidate will have a passion for improving both client and employee experience and a background in managing process/ product/ transformational change.

Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in financial services industry in support of equities trade flows (experience with the Latin America markets strongly desired);
  • Strategic development of solutions and processes that tie directly to results (KPIs);
  • Self-motivated problem solver, ability to independently identify areas for improvement and implement the required solutions;
  • Display exceptional presentation and communication skills; excel at delivering clear and concise messages that resonate with all audiences;
  • Ability to influence partners and drive change across a complex, matrixed organization;
  • Ability to architect resilient, distributed systems achieving world class reliability;
  •  Work well under pressure and know how to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced and continually changing environment;
  • Passion for delivering benefits to customers and driving exceptional results;
  •  Strong analytical and organizational skills; focus on attention to detail;
  • Collaborating closely with our Site Reliability Engineering group to achieve industry leading reliability and scalability;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Portuguese, English an Spanish);
  • Strong horizontal leadership skills across peers; an individual who can indirectly and inspire a strong sense of camaraderie, accountability and motivate continuous improvements to performance;
  • Able to attract, retain and develop top talent, strong peer coach;
  • Development practices - Should be able to employ AI-driven, test focused development;
  •  Experience working with strategic vendor platforms such as Fidessa/ION, including managing vendor relationships and driving platform upgrades, platform lifecycle management, and related transformation initiatives;
  • Experience in leading a technology team with extensive knowledge of software development lifecycle (SAFe Agile) and methodologies, good understanding of the operational aspects of managing a software stack;
  • Strong business-centric mindset, with ability to utilize sound business judgment and tailor approach to drive optimal business outcomes;
  • Knowledge on Global Market products, Latin America Global Market Business, and front-to-back -platform capabilities;
  • Hands-on experience in managing technology risk, handling IT audits and Regulatory engagements;
  • Experience with enterprise-wide planning, communication, and implementation with track record of on time delivery of complex and strategic solutions with quality;
  • Solid stakeholder management skills, which includes facing off to the trading desks and business product partners;
  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate with global technology teams and various control partners ;
  • Proven ability to decompose complex issues and drive timely decisions, knowing when to engage others for additional input, and when to act independently.
