Description

A leading organisation is seeking a MEPF Site Electrical Engineer to represent the design and engineering team on site during the construction of a cable landing station in East London. This 14-month site-based opportunity will suit an engineer with strong MEPF coordination, QA/QC and critical infrastructure experience who can confidently make day-to-day technical decisions while recognising when matters require escalation.

Responsibilities:

  • Confirm that electrical, mechanical, plumbing and fire protection installations comply with approved designs, specifications and drawings.
  • Conduct site inspections and perform QA/QC checks to ensure installation quality and continuous As-Built compliance.
  • Make routine technical and coordination decisions on site and escalate matters with cost, programme or design implications.
  • Support MEPF commissioning and testing activities, including witnessing tests and reviewing results against design requirements.
  • Monitor daily and weekly installation progress, identifying delays, construction risks and potential technical concerns.
  • Compile, manage and close out snagging and punch lists.
  • Assist with the supervision and coordination of MEPF subcontractors and integration with other construction trades.
  • Maintain accurate site documentation, including RFIs, inspection reports, site instructions, photographic records and As-Built information using ACC Forma.

Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Approximately 6+ years' relevant site experience, ideally at mid-to-senior level.
  • Previous exposure to data centres, telecommunications, cable landing stations or other critical infrastructure projects will be advantageous.
  • Strong working knowledge of MEPF coordination on active construction sites.
  • Experience in QA/QC, commissioning, testing, snagging and technical site inspections.
  • Knowledge of ACC Forma will be advantageous.
  • Strong technical judgement with the confidence to make independent site decisions and escalate appropriately.
  • Excellent written communication, reporting and document-control capabilities.
  • Willingness and availability to be based on site in East London for the full 14-month project duration.
