Job Description

The Associate Director, Counterparty Data is responsible for delivering analysis and data solutions across the Counterparty Data Repository and broader Client Data ecosystem (MDM Master Data Management).  This role sits at the intersection of business, data, and technology—translating complex regulatory and operational requirements into scalable, well-governed data solutions.

A successful candidate will combine strong analytical depth with strategic leadership, owning end-to-end delivery across multiple concurrent programs and initiatives.  You will act as a key interface between business stakeholders, data engineering, and operations, ensuring that data solutions are accurate, scalable, and aligned to enterprise standards.

This is a high-autonomy role in a change-driven environment. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable presenting to senior management and performing analysis to validate data and assumptions.

Should you be shortlisted, do please let us know if you have any specific requirements for the interview.

This is a permanent, full-time role and requires 4 days in the 100 Bishopsgate, London office.

What will you do?

Team Leadership & Delivery Owners

  • Lead and mentor Business Analysts and Data Analysts across multiple concurrent initiatives. Own end-to-end delivery of analysis workstreams, establishing best practices for requirements gathering, data analysis, and documentation.  Drive prioritisation, capacity planning, and execution to ensure programs deliver on time and to quality standards.

Business & Data Translation

  • Translate complex business, regulatory, and operational requirements into structured data and system specifications.  Define data mapping, transformation logic, and lineage across multiple source systems.  Partner with stakeholders across Front Office, Risk, Compliance, Operations, Client Intelligence and Regulatory Reporting to define data needs & expected outcomes. Bridge the gap between business intent & technical implementation, ensuring requirements are clear, complete, and actionable.

Strategic Initiatives & Change

  • Support large-scale data transformation initiatives including migrations, regulatory programs, and platform enhancements. Identify opportunities to automate, standardise, and scale analysis workflows.  Contribute to the evolution of the Client Data / Master Data operating model, including governance and ownership structures.

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a primary point of contact for senior stakeholders across business and technology. Present insights, trade-offs, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Manage expectations across multiple stakeholder groups with competing priorities. Influence decision-making through data-driven insights and structured analysis.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Robust experience in Business Analysis, Data Analysis, or data-focused delivery roles within financial services.

  • Proven experience leading teams in a complex, enterprise environment.

  • Track record of owning delivery across multiple concurrent initiatives with varied stakeholders.

  • SQL skills with experience working against large relational databases (SQL Server preferred).

  • Strong data manipulation and analysis capabilities. Proficiency in Excel is required; Python, R, VBA, Power Query, Tableau, and Power BI familiarity assets.

  • Experience with data profiling, validation, and standardisation.

  • Strong problem-solving and structured thinking skills.

  • Ability to operate independently and drive clarity for the team and stakeholders.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to communicate effectively with senior management.

  • Self-driven with strong attention to oversight, quality, and follow-through.

  • Proven ability to influence without direct authority.

What is in it for you?
