Manager, Finance Operations, Assurant- GCC India

The Manager, Finance Operations is responsible for leading the transition of International Finance transactional activities into the Virtual Global Capability Centre (VGCC) operating model within an assigned regional GCC hub, either India or Argentina. This role provides practical leadership across finance operations, organizational change, service delivery, governance, process standardization, controls and capability development. Initially, the role will support phased movement from country-based transactional delivery to the VGCC model, including reporting-line transitions, knowledge transfer, process documentation, stakeholder engagement and readiness for GFS-enabled ways of working. As the model matures, the role will provide ongoing operational leadership and support shared service maturity.

This position will be in Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad at our India location.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Operating Model Transition & Change Leadership (20%): Lead implementation of the VGCC operating model across the assigned hub or regional grouping. Manage phased reporting-line transitions, transition plans, communication routines, stakeholder engagement and service continuity.
  • Finance Operations Leadership (20%): Provide day-to-day governance over in-scope transactional finance activities, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, Treasury execution, GL Accounting, reconciliations and operational FP&A support activities.
  • Service Delivery & Stakeholder Management (15%): Establish and monitor service delivery expectations, KPIs, SLAs and monthly performance routines. Act as a key operational interface for Regional CFOs, Controllers, senior country finance leaders and country finance teams.
  • Governance, Controls & Standardization (15%): Implement standardized finance processes, documentation, controls and operating procedures. Strengthen audit readiness, reduce operational risk and address fragmented ways of working and key-person dependency.
  • Talent, Capability & Culture (15%): Lead knowledge-transfer activities, develop cross-training and capability-building routines, support GCC replacement hiring where aligned to the operating model and foster a collaborative, accountable service-oriented culture.
  • Continuous Improvement & GFS Readiness (15%): Identify process simplification, automation readiness and root-cause improvement opportunities. Partner with Finance, Technology and transformation stakeholders to prepare teams for GFS-enabled ways of working and future shared service maturity.
  • The role will lead finance operations activities across the assigned hub scope, which may include Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, Treasury, General Ledger Accounting, Reconciliations, and operational FP&A support. The position will be responsible for driving transition and transformation initiatives, including project planning, knowledge transfer, process standardization, stakeholder management, risk mitigation, and implementation of Global Finance Services (GFS) operating models. Team leadership responsibilities may include managing finance professionals and team leaders across multiple geographies, depending on the final organizational scope.

What are the requirements needed for this position? 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field required.
  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including exposure to finance operations, service delivery, controls, shared services, transformation delivery or change implementation.
  • Demonstrated experience leading geographically dispersed teams and managing work across multiple countries or regions.
  • Strong understanding of finance transactional processes, controls, governance, documentation and operational performance management.
  • Proven ability to partner with senior finance leaders and influence stakeholders through clear communication and data-driven recommendations.
  • Track record of driving process standardization, continuous improvement and operational discipline in a complex environment.

What is the Preferred Experience, Skills, and Knowledge needed for this position? 

  • CPA, CA, ACCA, CMA, MBA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
  • Experience in a Global Capability Center, Shared Services, Global Business Services or similar operating model.
  • Experience supporting ERP, GFS, automation or finance transformation initiatives.
  • Knowledge of KPI/SLA frameworks, service management routines and shared service governance models.
  • Strong change leadership, stakeholder influence, service delivery mindset, risk and control awareness, continuous improvement orientation and global collaboration skills.

Travel or Shift Work- Up to 25% travel may be required based on transition needs, stakeholder engagement and regional governance routines.
