Position Summary: Institutional Effectiveness is seeking a detail-oriented research assistant to support institutional research, survey analysis, and reporting projects. This is a great opportunity for students interested in higher education, public policy, data analytics, or research methods. You’ll gain practical experience in survey design, data analysis, and institutional reporting that directly supports strategic planning and student success initiatives at UR.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide general office support as needed, including scanning, shredding, filing, and answering phones
  • Support survey development, distribution, and data entry/processing
  • Conduct basic data analysis using Excel, SPSS, Tableau, or other tools (training provided)
  • Help prepare summary reports, charts, and presentations for internal stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate records and assist in filing and archiving reports.
  • Special projects as assigned including data entry and data review
  • Run on-campus errands as needed
  • Conduct benchmarking and literature reviews on topics relevant to institutional priorities
  • Uphold confidentiality and data security in all tasks
  • Assist with communications about student surveys as needed

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Currently enrolled student in good academic standing
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; willingness to learn survey and data analysis tools
  • Ability to work independently and handle confidential information responsibly
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in survey research, data analysis, or educational assessment

Preferred:

  • Coursework in statistics, social science research methods, or data analytics
  • Experience with Qualtrics
  • Familiarity with data analysis or visualization tools (e.g., SPSS, Tableau, or Excel)

Pay Grade: SP Student 3, starting at $14.45
