Marketing Manager, Events | San Francisco | AI Infrastructure

This one needs an events operator. Not someone ready to learn how to become one.

A fast-scaling business operating across AI infrastructure, GPU compute and global data centres is growing rapidly and they are looking for an experienced B2B Events Marketing professional to take ownership of a growing international events program.

The title says Marketing Manager. The remit is considerably bigger.

You’ll be responsible for looking at the global AI, GPU, cloud and data centre conference landscape and answering some fairly important questions:

Where should the business be showing up?
Which events actually matter?
Where should sponsorship dollars be invested?
What should the global events strategy look like over the next 12 months?

Then you’ll make it happen.  From strategy through to execution.

You’ll:

• Build and execute the events and sponsorship strategy across a growing global footprint
• Own flagship B2B conferences, sponsorships and brand activations end-to-end
• Develop business cases and manage healthy event budgets
• Work closely with Sales, Commercial, Product, Legal and Investor Relations teams
• Negotiate with conference organisers, venues and suppliers
• Manage everything from contracts and sponsorship rights through to stands, signage, executives and delegate experience
• Measure ROI and use performance data to shape future investment
• Build out the San Francisco events strategy and local technology community presence
• Support a global calendar spanning the US and Europe, with further expansion ahead

And there are plenty of unglamorous bits.

This is a business where everyone gets into the weeds, regardless of seniority. You won’t develop the strategy and hand execution to a large team underneath you.

You need to be comfortable doing both.

We’re looking for someone with strong B2B conference and events experience, ideally across enterprise technology, cloud, AI infrastructure, data centres or another complex technology environment.

You’ll need to be commercially sharp, exceptionally organised and strong enough with stakeholders to operate confidently across a fast-moving business.

Most importantly, you need to have done this before.

This isn’t a role with a long runway for learning.
