Soft Tech Consulting is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual to fill the role of a Database Administrator for one of our clients. The designated candidate for this position will join a collaborative team environment, providing support and expertise necessary toward the successful delivery of the project deliverables, and provide effective communication to all levels of staff for reporting status/progress. The place of performance for this contract is in Washington, DC.
Responsibilities
- Administer Oracle and Postgres databases
- Debug Oracle and Postgres databases
- Patch and upgrade Oracle and Postgres databases
- Conduct performance tuning on Oracle and Postgres databases
- Resolve issues with Oracle and Postgres databases
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in any related field
- Minimum of 5 years of DBA experience.
- Experience administering Oracle or Postgres databases (ideally both)
- Experience with AWS/RDS/S3/DMS
- Experience working with and debugging Oracle/Postgres databases
- Experience with Oracle/Postgres database patching and upgrades
- Experience conducting performance tuning on Oracle/Postgres databases
- Experience with Oracle/Postgres database backup/recovery tools and techniques, such as Oracle RMAN and Flashback
- Experience with restoring Oracle/Postgres databases
- Experience configuring Oracle/Postgres databases to meet federal security guidelines
- Experience identifying and resolving performance or availability issues in databases
- Experience providing guidance and support to application developers in the creation and deployment of DML or DDL scripts in support of application maintenance or deployment
- Databases (Intermediate)
- AWS RDS Configuration (Intermediate)
- Must be able to communicate effectively both verbal and written.
- Must be able to work independently, with minimal oversight.
