Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Enterprise Service Layer (ESL) Developer to design, develop, and maintain APIs and integration services connecting digital applications with enterprise backend systems.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in REST APIs, microservices, backend development, and enterprise system integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Enterprise Service Layer services and APIs.
• Develop REST APIs and microservices to integrate applications with backend systems.
• Build and maintain integrations between digital applications and enterprise systems.
• Develop integration services using appropriate API and messaging approaches.
• Handle API validation, transformation, error handling, and logging.
• Troubleshoot API, integration, and production issues.
• Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and testable code.
• Participate in code reviews and follow API and development standards.
• Collaborate with Architects, Commerce Developers, Front-End Developers, Backend Developers, QA, and DevOps teams.

Must-Have Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in backend, API, middleware, or enterprise integration development.
• Strong experience developing REST APIs and microservices.
• Proficiency in at least one backend technology:
  • Java / Spring Boot
  • .NET
  • Node.js
• Experience integrating applications with enterprise/backend systems.
• Good understanding of JSON, HTTP/HTTPS, and web services.
• Understanding of API integration patterns.
• Experience with API authentication and authorization.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD practices.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience with API Gateway or API Management solutions.
• Knowledge of messaging or event-driven integration.
• Experience integrating with Commerce/eCommerce platforms.
• Exposure to cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.

Experience Required

• 5+ years of overall software development experience.
• At least 3+ years of hands-on experience in API development, microservices, middleware, backend development, or enterprise integration.
• Proven experience integrating applications with enterprise/backend systems.
• Hands-on experience with Java/Spring Boot, .NET, or Node.js.
• Experience in Commerce/eCommerce integration environments is preferred.
