Salary Range: $28.00 to $33.00/hr

JOB SUMMARY
The primary responsibility of the Nursing Laboratory/Simulation Instructor is to assist in the delivery of experiential learning experiences in laboratory and simulation settings. Working within the framework established by course faculty, the instructor supports student learning, skill acquisition, and successful course progression. The instructor demonstrates a commitment to the vision and mission of St. Thomas, the Morrison Family College of Health, and the Susan S. Morrison School of Nursing and is responsible for promoting an inclusive learning environment where students feel supported, engaged, and positioned for success.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assists course faculty to provide instruction and demonstration of designated nursing clinical skills, health assessments, and professional nursing responsibilities for pre-licensure nursing students within the experiential learning environment.
Facilitates student development in quality and safe nursing care by providing feedback that reinforces learning and supports recognition of individual learning needs.
Participates in continuous quality improvement processes with course faculty and Assistant Director of Nursing Simulation Education to provide input on and identify opportunities/solutions to enhance student learning experience, effectiveness, and overall educational learning outcomes.
Contributes to efficient learning environment operations, including respectful resource utilization and optimization, inventory maintenance and collaborative planning for optimal student learning experiences.
Provides feedback to the course faculty about student performance for the purpose of formative and summative evaluations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in nursing.
- Three years of relevant professional level experience in nursing with diverse populations in clinical settings.
- Direct patient care experience as a Registered Nurse in a clinical setting within two years from date of application
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in nursing.
Teaching experience in pre-licensure nursing programs.
Healthcare simulation education experience.
