What work you will be responsible for:
Position Overview:
EisnerAmper has an immediate career opportunity for an Independence Department Staff member (part of the Firm’s Risk Management group). In this role, you will work closely with the Independence Department team to help maintain the firm’s compliance with independence regulations by performing data analysis and operational tasks in a global team environment. This role requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and a readiness to learn and apply auditor independence rules as you help safeguard the firm’s reputation. It’s an excellent opportunity to build a foundation in risk management and independence compliance, with potential for growth into more senior roles.
Key Responsibilities:
Independence Data Monitoring & Reporting: Analyze independence reports, identify issues, and follow up on outstanding or non-compliant items.
Regulatory Conflict Checks & Affiliate Management: Support conflict checks and maintain accurate affiliate data in NetSuite, escalating potential independence issues as needed.
Issue Resolution & Quality Control: Investigate and resolve discrepancies, ensuring accuracy and integrity of independence data.
Independence Surveys & Compliance Support: Assist with independence surveys and representations, track responses, and escalate exceptions.
Global Team Collaboration: Partner with US teams and serve as a point of contact for independence inquiries, managing mailbox requests and escalations.
Continuous Improvement & Learning: Build knowledge of independence rules and contribute to process improvements and efficiencies.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with large data sets, ensuring accuracy in all independence-related records and reports.
Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a logical approach to identifying discrepancies and determining solutions within regulatory guidelines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues across different teams and geographies. You are comfortable explaining complex information (such as independence requirements) in a clear, professional manner as needed.
Time management and multitasking abilities, able to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
A collaborative, proactive mindset: willing to learn new tools and regulations, share knowledge with the team, and seek guidance when necessary to ensure compliance and quality.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2+ years of relevant experience in an accounting firm or similar professional/financial services or compliance environment.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required), with experience in data management systems. Familiarity with NetSuite or other compliance/ERP systems is a plus.
Demonstrated interest in regulatory compliance or auditing; any exposure to auditor independence rules or quality control processes is advantageous (training will be provided).
