Job Description

The Buyer Planner is a client-facing operations professional responsible for planning, scheduling, and monitoring the movement of materials and manufacturing activities throughout the project execution lifecycle.

You will bridge the gap between customer delivery requirements, material availability, manufacturing capacity, and contract manufacturer readiness, ensuring project delivery while coordinating across partners and external partners.

You will operate across the full lifecycle—from manufacturing planning and material readiness to vendor management, execution monitoring, and performance improvement—while ensuring both our teams and customers succeed.

You will report to PROGRAM MANAGER.
 

Your Responsibilities:
 

Manufacturing & Project Planning

  • Develop manufacturing plans based on project schedules and customer delivery commitments.

  • Plan, schedule, and monitor movement of materials through the production cycle.

  • Coordinate manufacturing readiness before release of projects to production.

  • Ensure execution plans align with material availability and production capacity.

  • Monitor project progress and escalate risks affecting delivery schedules.

  • Support recovery plans.
     

Material Planning & Supply Readiness

  • Determine material requirements from engineering and production schedules.

  • Coordinate material availability with Procurement, Production, Engineering, and Logistics.

  • Monitor shortages, long lead-time items, and critical materials.

  • Create resolution of supply constraints affecting project schedules.

  • Ensure production starts with complete material readiness wherever possible.

Contract Manufacturer Management

  • Evaluate and select Contract Manufacturers based on capacity, infrastructure readiness, technical capability, quality, and delivery performance.

  • Allocate projects to suitable Contract Manufacturers based on requirements and available capacity.

  • Monitor workload distribution and manufacturing progress at Contract Manufacturer sites.

  • Conduct periodic reviews to ensure schedule adherence.

  • Support continuous improvement and performance enhancement plans.

Production & Capacity Planning

  • Assess manufacturing floor loading and resource availability.

  • Coordinate production schedules with manufacturing teams.

  • Find and address bottlenecks affecting project completion.

  • Ensure use of manufacturing resources across multiple projects.

Team member Coordination

  • Partner with Project Managers to establish clear and achievable execution plans.

  • Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, and Logistics teams.

  • Develop relationships with Contract Manufacturers and suppliers.

  • Communicate project status, risks, and mitigation actions to partners.

Vendor & Performance Management

  • Evaluate Contract Manufacturer performance against Measurements.

  • Participate in supplier performance reviews and business evaluations.

  • Support onboarding of new Contract Manufacturers.

  • Provide recommendations for project allocation and sourcing decisions.

The Essentials – You Will Have

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Supply Chain, Production, Industrial Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline.

  • Minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience in Manufacturing Planning, Production Planning, Supply Chain, Project Execution, Procurement Planning, or Contract Manufacturing Management.

  • Knowledge of:

    • Production Planning & Scheduling

    • Material Requirement Planning (MRP)

    • Capacity Planning

    • Supply Chain Coordination

    • Manufacturing Operations

    • Vendor / Contract Manufacturer Management

    • Inventory Planning

    • ERP Systems (SAP)

    • Microsoft Excel and Data Analysis.

The Preferred – You Might Also Have

  • Experience in industrial/manufacturing setup.

  • Exposure to multi-vendor environments.
