At Ciena, the SIEM Engineer and Integrator plays a key role in maintaining and advancing security monitoring capabilities across enterprise infrastructure, SaaS platforms, and cloud environments. This position drives security visibility, data integration, and operational effectiveness through scalable security solutions and collaboration with internal stakeholders. The role supports ongoing improvement of security operations by expanding SIEM capabilities and enabling data-driven decision-making.
How you will make an impact:
Monitor and recommend improvements to SIEM visibility across infrastructure, SaaS platforms, cloud services, firewalls, IPS/IDS, WAF, proxies, Office 365, Azure,AWS.
Recommend solutions that address security visibility, data retention, and analytical requirements.
Execute data onboarding, enrichment, and deployment of detection logic to enhance security operations.
Coordinate with security and non-security stakeholders to implement security recommendations and integrations.
Administer, monitor, maintain, patch, and upgrade security infrastructure.
Automate workflows and streamline operational processes using Terraform and Ansible.
Troubleshoot security platform issues and recommend cost-efficient approaches for data filtering, routing, storage, and searchability.
The must haves:
Experience: 4+ years’ experience in Security or security-related fields.
Experience: 4+ years’ experience in SIEM management with a focus around program management.
Demonstrated attention to detail with analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Awareness of cybersecurity trends, issues, and hacking techniques.
Availability to work after hours when needed.
Self-motivation to complete tasks.
Ability to work within a team environment and coordinate with stakeholders inside and outside the security team.
Nice to haves:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent ability to document platforms and requirements.
Excellent time management and task prioritization.
