This position serves as a Finance & Accounting leadership role and strategic business partner to the Retail Value-Added Poultry (RVAP) Business Unit, providing forward-looking financial insight, decision support, and strong stewardship.

 

The role is responsible for translating financial, market, and operational data into actionable insights, partnering closely with Business Unit leadership to drive performance, optimize profitability, and support strategic initiatives.

 

This position reports directly to the Sr. Director of Finance & Accounting and has dotted-line responsibility to the General Manager and Sr. Vice President, acting as a key advisor on business performance, risk management, and capital allocation. The role will collaborate closely with margin management, operations, and cross-functional leaders to align financial strategy with business objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Business Partnership Serve as a trusted advisor to BU leadership (GM, SVP) on financial performance, risks, and strategic opportunities

  • Translate complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable insights to influence decision-making

  • Lead financial support for strategic planning, growth initiatives, and portfolio optimization

  • Performance Management & Insights Provide leadership over weekly and monthly business performance reviews, including mix, capacity, and operational drivers

  • Identify and communicate key drivers of variance vs. plan, including actionable recommendations

  • Partner with margin management to optimize price/mix, profitability, and trade spend outcomes

  • Forecasting & Financial Planning Lead the BU’s role in the quarterly LE process, including identification of risks and opportunities and alignment to enterprise targets

  • Support development of MAP budgets and trade analysis, ensuring alignment with profitability objectives

  • Capital Allocation & Investment Management Oversee capital planning and business case development, ensuring rigorous financial discipline

  • Provide insight and challenge assumptions to improve return on invested capital and prioritization of projects

  • Operational Partnership Collaborate closely with operations to improve plant performance, cost structure, and capacity utilization

  • Drive alignment between financial metrics and operational execution

  • Team Leadership & Development Lead and develop a team of financial managers, building analytical capability and business acumen

  • Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and partnership with the business

  • Governance & Controls Ensure strong internal controls, SOX compliance, and financial integrity

  • Maintain disciplined financial stewardship while enabling business agility

REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent) required

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in Finance or Accounting highly preferred

  • Demonstrated experience partnering with operations or commercial teams preferred

  • Brand and trade management experience preferred

  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience highly preferred

Technical / Analytical Skills:

  • Strong financial modeling and data analytics capabilities preferred

  • Experience with advanced analytics and/or AI-enabled tools preferred

Communication & Leadership Skills:

  • Proven ability to influence and communicate with senior leadership

  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, business-relevant insights

  • Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional environments

Travel: Approximately 4+ domestic trips per year
