[What the role is]
Deputy Director, Partners Division (Finance)[What you will be working on]
- Lead and manage a team within the Partners Division, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure optimal performance and achievement of financial and budgetary objectives.
- Develop and implement sound financial and budgetary control policies to promote financial prudence, and to ensure compliance with the government’s financial policies and procedures.
- Manage the preparation, analysis, and compliance of financial reports, forecasts, and budgets, ensuring adherence to policies and regulatory requirements.
- Participate/Lead initiatives for system testing, enhancements or integration, strengthening of internal controls and process improvements.
- Monitor team performance, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance appraisals related to team’s responsibilities.
- Collaborate with other teams and departments to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of budgetary objectives, including in household operations and process controls.
- Lead or co-lead in projects that support the Whole-of-Government digital transformation roadmap for finance.
[What we are looking for]
Proven leadership experience in financial management or budgeting roles, including experience leading or supervising a team
Strong knowledge of financial principles, budgeting processes, and financial analysis techniques
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
Advanced proficiency in financial software, spreadsheet applications, and data management systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and expertise in data analytics and visualisation
Experience in governance and risk management within a financial context
Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple financial priorities
Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development in financial management practices
Experience in business transformation initiatives and their impact on financial planning and management.
