Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Blandford Forum, Dorset
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Hours: 36.5 hours per week
We are recruiting for an Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering company specialising in the design and manufacture of bespoke electrical control panels for HVAC and Building Management Systems.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to become part of a friendly, close-knit team working on a wide variety of technically interesting projects. The Role
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing electrical control panels for a wide range of commercial and industrial applications.
Your duties will include:
- Designing electrical control panels using CAD software.
- Producing electrical circuit diagrams and panel layouts.
- Designing systems for HVAC and Building Management System (BMS) applications.
- Liaising with customers to understand and define technical requirements.
- Providing technical support via telephone when required.
- Assisting with electrical testing to ensure design integrity and electrical safety.
- Supporting functional testing of PLC programmes.
- Working closely with the manufacturing team to ensure designs are delivered accurately and efficiently.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience in electrical design, ideally involving control panels.
- The ability to produce electrical schematics and panel layouts using CAD software.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to liaise with customers.
- A methodical approach with strong attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a small team.
The following would be advantageous:
- Experience with HVAC or Building Management Systems (BMS).
- PLC programming experience (training can be provided).
- Electrical qualifications.
- Experience using SEE Electrical or EPLAN software.
