Nuclear Medicine Technologist – Brand New Imaging Center! 

Practice: Spokane Urology 

Location: Advanced Radiation and Imaging Center of Spokane 

8775 East Mission Ave, Spokane Valley, WA 99212 

Anticipated Opening Date: January 11, 2027 

Training Start Date: October / November 2026 

Position Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week) 

Schedule: Monday – Friday 

Pay Range: $40.00 – $51.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Spokane Urology is excited to announce the upcoming grand opening of the Advanced Radiation and Imaging Center of Spokane in January 2027! We are seeking an experienced, high-caliber Nuclear Medicine Technologist with hands-on radiopharmaceutical expertise to join our founding clinical team in Spokane Valley. 

Under the leadership of Shawn Van Horn, Director of Radiation Services, our team is dedicated to fostering a supportive, family-like atmosphere where true teamwork drives patient success. In this role, you will work alongside Shawn and a top-tier group of physicians and clinical specialists in a state-of-the-art facility, delivering exceptional, compassionate patient care and advanced diagnostic procedures. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Safely prepare, measure, calibrate, administer, and document radiopharmaceuticals in strict accordance with state and federal radiation safety regulations. 
  • Perform routine equipment calibrations, daily quality control testing, dose calibrator checks, and comprehensive radiation safety monitoring. 
  • Operate advanced nuclear imaging technology, gamma cameras, and post-processing computers to produce high-quality diagnostic records. 
  • Collaborate closely with team members and radio pharmacy partners to ensure smooth daily inventory management and patient flow. 
  • Support patient comfort, safety, and confidentiality (HIPAA compliance) throughout all procedural steps. 

Position Qualifications 

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited program in Nuclear Medicine Technology required (bachelor's degree preferred). 
  • Certifications: Active ARRT (N) or NMTCB certification required; active Washington State license required. 
  • Life Support: Current BLS certification required (ACLS preferred). If not currently up to date, time will be allowed to obtain certification prior to the center opening. 
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of hands-on nuclear medicine experience required, with proven experience handling, preparing, and administering radiopharmaceuticals.

GENERAL SUMMARY 

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist uses radioactive drugs and imaging equipment to diagnose and treat patients with various medical conditions and diseases. The Technologist works with physicians and other medical staff to prepare and administer drugs and record and interpret the images.  


Requirements

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION/COMPETENCIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Documents pertinent patient information according to department policies. Includes record of radiopharmaceutical administration and relative required documentation.
  • Provides explanation of procedure, discharge information, and expectations of test completion and availability of results.
  • Prepares, measures and administers radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Utilizes appropriate immobilization and shielding techniques to protect patients from safety risks.
  • Operates imaging equipment according to established procedures, including cameras, post processing computers and monitoring devices.
  • Meets the individual physical and mental needs of patients during procedures including comfort, privacy, confidentiality and timely communication.
  • Prepares images for interpretation by completing required post processing protocols.
  • Utilizes appropriate radiation safety methods for patients, visitors and all staff.
  • Complies with State regulations for the use and disposal of radioactive materials.
  • Performs equipment calibrations and quality control testing, specific to radioactive material monitoring.
  • Maintains work area and equipment by proper use, routine cleaning and ensures there are adequate supplies.
  • Assists patients, family members, physicians, visitors and employees in a friendly cooperative manner.
  • Performs other position related duties as assigned.
  • Employees shall adhere to high standards of ethical conduct and will comply with and assist in complying with all applicable laws and regulations. This will include and not be limited to following the Solaris Health Code of Conduct and all Solaris Health and Affiliated Practice policies and procedures; maintaining the confidentiality of patients' protected health information in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA); immediately reporting any suspected concerns and/or violations to a supervisor and/or the Compliance Department; and the timely completion the Annual Compliance Training.


CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURES OR REGISTRY REQUIREMENTS


  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Certification through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) required.
  • License and certification as required by state.
  • BLS certification required, ACLS preferred

  • Ability to operate imaging technology and machinery.

  • Complies with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.


EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS


  • Associates Degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology required. Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology preferred.


EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS


  • 1 year of Nuclear Medicine Technology experience required.
