Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Pump Shop Management
- Manage the daily operations of the pump shop to ensure efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery.
- Schedule and prioritize pump repairs, rebuilds, testing, and assembly activities.
- Supervise, coach, and develop pump shop employees.
- Ensure all repairs and rebuilds meet manufacturer specifications and company quality standards.
- Monitor shop productivity and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing equipment with warehouse and logistics personnel.
- Maintain accurate repair records and service documentation.
- Ensure shop equipment is properly maintained and operational.
- Monitor inventory levels of pumps, parts, seals, bearings, motors, and related materials.
- Work closely with vendors to procure parts and equipment in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
Inside Sales
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries regarding pump products, repairs, and services.
- Prepare accurate quotations for pump repairs, replacement equipment, and related products.
- Process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Follow up on quotations to secure sales opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through excellent communication and service.
- Provide technical product recommendations based on customer needs.
- Coordinate with outside sales representatives to support customer accounts and sales initiatives.
- Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
- Maintain accurate customer information and sales activity within company systems.
- Identify opportunities to upsell products and services.
Leadership & Operations
- Lead by example while promoting teamwork, accountability, and customer satisfaction.
- Train and mentor employees on company procedures, safety practices, and technical skills.
- Assist in establishing departmental goals and performance metrics.
- Monitor shop expenses and recommend cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with branch leadership to improve operational efficiency and customer service.
- Support branch initiatives and special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in industrial pump repair, industrial distribution, or a related field.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Experience with industrial pumps, valves, rotating equipment, or fluid handling systems preferred.
- Strong customer service and inside sales experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and ERP systems (Workday, Eclipse, or similar systems preferred).
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

- Exposure to varying temperatures, noise, machinery, and warehouse conditions.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Work Environment
This position works in a combination of office, warehouse, and industrial pump shop environments. The employee will regularly interact with customers, vendors, and employees while supporting daily branch operations.
