## Description

The Manager, Responsible Sourcing will lead ELC’s Sensitive Supply Chains (SSC) program execution—driving implementation of raw material-specific action plans, advancing upstream traceability and data quality, and partnering cross-functionally and cross-regionally with Global Supplier Management, R&D, Legal, brands, and suppliers to mitigate environmental, economic, and human rights risks in ELC’s global ingredients supply base and enable credible communications and claims.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage ELC’s Sensitive Supply Chains program by advancing and monitoring implementation of raw material-specific action plans and providing progress updates to leadership.
  • Advance upstream supply chain transparency and traceability by leading projects with service providers and coordinating ELC participation in multi-stakeholder traceability initiatives (e.g., TRASCE) and relevant industry platforms.
  • Sustain and deepen engagement with ingredients suppliers on responsible sourcing practices and systematic sharing of ingredient sourcing information; progress the use of certified ingredients where applicable.
  • Assess and advise on sustainability and human rights risks in priority supply chains; evaluate supplier sourcing practices and support verification approaches (e.g., certifications, third-party assessments) aligned to program ambition.
  • Develop leadership-ready updates (e.g., SSC SteerCo pre-reads) that synthesize progress, risks, and decisions needed; manage project plans, milestones, and stakeholder inputs.
  • Represent ELC in external coalitions and working groups (e.g., ASD) to identify best practices, advance collaborative solutions, and help remediate human rights and environmental issues in key supply chains.
  • Coordinate with ELC’s Charitable Foundation and partners to monitor implementation of impact projects in sourcing communities; evaluate progress, steer improvements, and support internal alignment and resource mobilization.
  • Evaluate brand marketing claim requests related to raw material sourcing practices in partnership with brands, Legal, and R&D; support public reporting and disclosures as an SSC subject-matter expert.
  • Monitor, analyze, and improve SSC data using internal systems and external platforms/sources; track KPIs (e.g., transparency, traceability depth, data quality) and identify opportunities to strengthen program effectiveness.
  • Stay current on evolving regulations and protocols relevant to upstream supply chains (e.g., EUDR) and translate implications into practical requirements for suppliers and internal stakeholders.

## Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in responsible sourcing, sustainability, human rights, and/or procurement (preferably with raw materials/ingredients supply chains)
  • Demonstrated experience managing portfolios of projects and translating complex topics into leadership-ready narratives and materials
  • Experience with supply chain traceability systems/processes, supplier data quality management, and KPI development/reporting
  • Ability to engage and influence suppliers and internal stakeholders on upstream human rights and environmental due diligence expectations
  • Experience working with external NGOs, industry initiatives, and multi-stakeholder collaborations
  • High proficiency in MS Office including MS PowerPoint, Excel and Copilot
  • Proven ability to collect, interpret, and communicate complex sustainability, product, and environmental data (e.g., certifications, traceability data, reporting frameworks)
  • Strong passion for corporate responsibility and continuous improvement across global supply chains
