Job Summary:
To develop, coordinate and implement the training programs for the Parkwide Custodial Crews; to evaluate and revise manuals and training materials as needed. Keeps up to date floor and carpet cleaning records.

Responsibilities
- To fully train, supervise, monitor payroll and schedule the Parkwide Custodial Crews.
- Conduct inspections to enforce standards at all scheduled areas. To coordinate follow-up action plans with the Housekeeping, Food, Personnel, Engineering, and Operations departments.
- Work alongside your staff on a regular basis.
- Follow-up on National Park Service evaluations.
- Facilitate the on-going replacements of floor coverings in guest units and public areas; provide annual list to the Assistant Director of Lodging, generated by NPS inspections, on-location observations, and requests from managers.
- Completes and presents written evaluations to Parkwide Custodial Crews in a timely manner.
- Ensure safety and environmental programs are maintained: present weekly tailgate meetings,and implement a department Accident Reduction Plan.
- Assist with training of Porters on location, in conjunction with Housekeeping operations.
- Provide developmental training presentations for Housekeeping, F & B Managers, Personnel, Retail and Location Housekeeping Managers; hold refresher training when needed.
- Coordinate distribution and return of cleaning equipment, chemicals and supplies; monitor inventory weekly of chemicals; place chemical orders.
- Promotes and practices environmental stewardship by correctly identifying and training the use and disposal of all chemicals and water conservation. Also limits the use of paper products for refreshment and paper use for inter/intra office communications, using electronic communications when feasible.
- Willingness to help in other departments as assigned.
- Ability to work up to 6 days per week if necessary.
- Complete other projects as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Effective interpersonal and public speaking skills.

- Effective teaching skills.
- Knowledge of general computer programs, ordering, and Dayforce (training provided).
- Knowledge of products used and chemical safety relating to Custodial cleaning.
- Knowledge of the “Right to Know” laws pertaining to cleaning chemicals.
- General working knowledge of Window, Floor, and Carpet cleaning equipment.
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance, general mechanical aptitude and workplace safety.
- Knowledge and demonstration of enforcing Company and Department policies and procedures.
- Maintain a valid US driver’s license in good standing.
- In-park and overnight travel required.
Physical Requirements include:
- Making beds, bending, kneeling, stretching, and reaching as needed.
- Standing for long periods of time, lifting up to 50 pounds, frequent walking up and down stairs, as well as in outdoor areas sporadically throughout the day.
- The ability to push or pull 50-75 pounds on a random basis as needed.
- Working with required chemicals.
- Sitting and typing at a computer for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work at elevations of more than 7700 feet.
