Description
Role Purpose As a Production Operator, you will play a key role in the manufacture of food stabilisers, ensuring products are produced safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You will work in a dry powder processing environment and be responsible for operating equipment, maintaining accurate production records, and adhering to all Environmental, Health, Safety, Food Safety, and Quality (EHSQ) requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Comply with all company EHSQ policies, procedures, and safe systems of work.
- Promote and demonstrate safe working behaviours at all times.
- Report hazards, near misses, incidents, equipment defects, and process deviations.
- Participate in site safety programmes, behavioural safety audits (SBAs), and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure all food safety, legal, and quality requirements are met.
Production Operations
- Conduct pre-start inspections to ensure machinery and production areas meet Food Systems standards.
- Operate production equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform dumping, sieving, stitching, palletising, wrapping, labelling, and sampling activities.
- Shut down, clean, and maintain machinery following production runs.
- Report plant or equipment faults promptly to minimise downtime.
- Maintain housekeeping standards and keep work areas clean, organised, and safe.
Documentation & Administration
- Accurately complete batch sheets, production logs, weight records, metal detection records, and other process documentation.
- Ensure all records are completed clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and environmental performance.
- Support team initiatives and contribute to a positive, collaborative working environment.
- Undertake additional duties as required by the business.

- Carry out all responsibilities in accordance with food safety, legal, and quality requirements to ensure products are safe and suitable for human consumption.

- Comply with all environmental procedures and work instructions.
- Report environmental concerns or non-conformances promptly.

- Actively participate in EHS programmes, audits, and safety initiatives.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Good understanding of machinery and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to follow procedures and work instructions accurately.

- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable
- Experience within an FMCG or food manufacturing environment.
- Food industry experience.
- Level 2 Food Safety/Food Handling qualification.
- Understanding of food processing techniques.
Knowledge of HACCP principles and FSSC 22000 standards
