About the Role
We are looking for a Mobile Field Test Engineer to support 5G, LTE, and NTN/Satellite networks
in real-world testing environments. This role focuses on basic field testing, device validation,
and data collection to support R&D and QA teams.
This position is suitable for candidates with hands-on mobile device testing experience who
want exposure to cellular and satellite networks without requiring advanced chipset or protocol-
level expertise.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct field and drive testing for 5G NR, LTE, and 3G networks, with occasional
NTN/satellite testing
Perform mobility and stationary tests to check connectivity and performance
Record network/device logs and report issues or anomalies
Follow test plans for routes, devices, and network conditions
Help validate software or device updates in field testing
Document testing results and submit concise technical reports
Maintain and prepare test devices, SIM/eSIMs, and test equipment
Collaborate with R&D, QA, and carrier teams as needed
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or
equivalent experience
Some experience in mobile device testing or telecom/network testing
Basic understanding of 5G, LTE, WCDMA/UMTS, GSM networks
Familiarity with mobile device software and connectivity testing
Experience with log analysis tools (QXDM, QPST, XCAL, Shannon DM or similar)
Ability to capture logs and report testing results
Comfortable working with Microsoft Office for reports
Ability to work independently and troubleshoot basic issues in the field
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to NTN/satellite networks (LEO/GEO)
Understanding of 5G protocol stack (PHY, MAC, RRC, NAS signaling)
Some experience with RF test tools or simple logging tools
Familiarity with Android devices and mobile testing procedures
Familiarity with automation/scripting (ADB, Python, Shell)
Work Environment
Mostly field-based testing (drive/walk routes) with some lab setup
Testing may occur in outdoor or limited-connectivity areas
Travel up to 15% for project needs
May require occasional extended hours or weekend testing
Hands-on work with mobile devices and test equipment
Requirements
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to test locations
Comfortable handling test devices and basic field equipment
