About the role
The Tournaments Coordinator will support the growth and quality of competitive tennis in Victoria by overseeing a strong and sustainable sanctioned tournament calendar. The position ensures tournament opportunities are well coordinated, aligned with Tennis Victoria strategy, and provide positive and meaningful experiences for players across all levels of tournaments.
Working closely with tournament providers, the role supports the delivery of high-quality events, promotes best practice standards, and helps ensure the best possible player experience.
In this role you will:
- Lead the coordination and management of the Victorian endorsed Community and sanctioned tournament calendar.
- Work with tournament providers, clubs and Tennis Australia to optimise calendar alignment and competition opportunities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with tournament providers, affiliated clubs, coaches and associations.
- Coordinate with officials/referees, including appointment, communication, and ensuring they have necessary tournament information.
- Lead the planning and delivery of selected Tennis Victoria-owned and operated tournaments. This includes scheduling, order of play publication and dealing with player requests.
- Oversee prize money allocations and distribution in accordance with relevant policies and guidelines.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Knowledge of Tournament Planner (desired).
- Experience in coordinating and assisting the delivery of sporting events, tournaments or large scale programs.
- An understanding of community sport environments and the operational challenges of delivering events across multiple venues.
- Awareness of governance, risk, and compliance considerations relevant to sporting events.
- Strong administrative, planning, and organisational skills.
- Ability to problem solve under pressure.
- Hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check.
- Preparedness to be flexible in regard to working hours and arrangements relating to work associated with Tennis VIC.
