Special Education Teacher 2026–2027 School Year | Up to $60/hour | Markham, IL |

Ampersand Therapy is hiring dedicated Special Education Teachers to join a supportive school community for the 2026–2027 school year in Markham, IL.

Position Details

Schedule: Full-Time, In-Person
Start Date: 2026-2027 School Year
Setting: Elementary School 

Hours: 35-37 hours per week (paid lunches)
Location: Markham, IL
Licensure Required: Illinois PEL with LBS1 Endorsement (must be active at time of submission)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide small group and individual instruction
• Implement IEPs and track student progress
• Attend IEP and staff meetings
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation

What We’re Looking For

• Valid Illinois PEL with LBS1 endorsement
• Passion for inclusive, student-centered instruction
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Experience in a resource room setting preferred, but not required—new graduates are welcome and will be supported with mentoring
