Job Description:
Join our Tax Operations team as a U.S. Tax Preparer, responsible for preparing accurate and timely tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, estates, and trusts. We welcome candidates with experience in either Individual Tax (Forms 1040/1041) return preparation. This role requires strong knowledge of U.S. tax regulations, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, compliant tax solutions while meeting client deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and timely U.S. federal, state, and local tax returns in accordance with client requirements and deadlines.
- Prepare and review Individual Tax Returns (Forms 1040/1041) based on business needs and experience.
- Make corrections and adjustments to tax returns based on reviewer feedback.
- Perform document verification and support tax return preparation activities.
- Assist in the development of training materials and support knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Resolve tax-related queries and provide guidance to team members as needed.
- Participate in onboarding programs, tax update sessions, and ongoing learning activities.
- Communicate effectively with managers, stakeholders, and clients regarding tax-related matters.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, internal quality standards, and established processes.
Required Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in U.S. Taxation, with experience in either: Individual Tax Returns (Forms 1040/1041).
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com) or a related field.
- Strong understanding of U.S. tax concepts, tax return preparation processes, and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of applicable tax laws, regulations, and filing requirements relevant to the area of specialization.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Commerce (M.Com) or equivalent.
- Exposure to both U.S. and Indian taxation systems.
- Familiarity with SPBinder or similar tax workflow tools.
- Experience working with multiple U.S. tax return types, including Forms 1040 and 1041.
- Experience interacting directly with clients and addressing tax-related queries.
- Practical exposure to multiple areas of tax compliance and return preparation.
- Willingness to stay current with U.S. tax laws and regulatory changes.
