Engineer / Senior Engineer (Surveillance)

[What the role is]

You will manage projects and oversee the maintenance of mission-critical surveillance systems that support the safe and reliable monitoring of aircraft in the air and on the airport ground. These systems include radars, Automatic Dependent Surveillance–Broadcast (ADS-B), multilateration, surface movement guidance and control systems, and the networks that connect them.
You will ensure the overall quality and integrity of projects, maintain the surveillance systems and their supporting networks in accordance with international standards and best practices, and enhance the software and hardware of existing systems and networks.

[What you will be working on]

·       Ensure systems meet the required quality, safety, performance and international standards.

·       Manage maintenance contractors and ensure that maintenance work is completed to the required standards.

·       Ensure compliance with CAAS and relevant government requirements, including cybersecurity requirements.

·       Investigate system faults and follow up on audit and cybersecurity findings with support from maintenance contractors and system suppliers.

·       Plan and carry out upgrades to existing system hardware, software and networks.

·       Manage project resources and schedules, working with internal teams, contractors, suppliers and other external parties.

·       Manage the procurement and implementation of replacement surveillance systems.

·       Coordinate with government agencies, system suppliers, consultants, auditors and other stakeholders.

[What we are looking for]

·       Trained in electrical, electronic, computing or telecommunications engineering, or an equivalent discipline.

·       Experience in the operation or maintenance of safety-critical systems, such as radars, is preferred.

·       Knowledge of implementing cybersecurity requirements or administering operating systems, such as Linux-based operating systems, will be an advantage.

·       Good communication, writing and interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and attention to detail.

·       A good team player who can work effectively with officers at all levels.

·       Analytical, open-minded and self-driven.

·       Able to support night work and duties.

·       Able to respond on-site at any time.

·       Able to travel overseas for visits, meetings, conferences and training.
