Job main purpose: The Applications Engineer EMEA is a key contributor to Nuvonic's commercial success, responsible for driving profitable growth through technical and application expertise across the region. Acting as the trusted technical partner to the sales organization, the role supports the development and conversion of sales opportunities by delivering optimized, value driven solutions that address customer challenges and differentiate Nuvonic in the market. The Applications Engineer provides expert support throughout the customer journey, including opportunity assessment, process evaluation, application engineering, system sizing, proposal development, competitive positioning and technical presentations.

Location: UK, preferably close to the HQ in Slough, hybrid possible

As member of the EMEA Regional team, the Applications Engineer is responsible for:

• Partner with Sales, Distributors, Product Management, and Engineering teams to develop technically robust and commercially competitive solutions that maximize project win rates and profitability

• Provide application engineering expertise throughout the sales cycle, supporting opportunity qualification, solution development, system sizing, proposal creation, and technical customer engagement

• Act as technical interface between customers, sales teams, manufacturing, and engineering functions, ensuring customer requirements are translated into successful project outcomes

• Deliver technical training, workshops, and presentations to internal teams, channel partners, consultants, and end users, enhancing product knowledge and strengthening Nuvonic's competitive position in the market

• Support Regional Sales Managers and distribution partners in the evaluation of customer specifications, public tenders, technical requirements, and procurement documentation to identify opportunities, risks, and competitive advantages

• Provide technical leadership in competitive positioning by analyzing competitor technologies, market offerings, and application approaches to develop differentiated winning solutions

• Gather and communicate customer feedback, market intelligence, emerging application trends, and competitive insights to support product strategy, product development, and market expansion initiatives

• Represent Nuvonic at customer meetings, industry conferences, exhibitions, trade shows, and technical forums, strengthening brand recognition and market presence

• Build trusted relationships with customers, consultants, OEMs, and key stakeholders by providing expert technical guidance and application support throughout the customer journey

• Support customers in the optimization and troubleshooting of UV and process applications, utilizing application expertise to identify and resolve complex operational challenges

• Drive continuous improvement of commercial and application engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to improve responsiveness, efficiency, conversion rates, and customer experience

• Contribute to the development and enhancement of sizing tools, technical documentation

• Provide regular reporting, market feedback, and business insights to regional management to support strategic decision-making and business planning

• Support regulatory, compliance, validation, and technical documentation activities relevant to the EMEA region

Qualifications / Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Technology, or a related technical discipline
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Application Engineering, Technical Sales, Product Management, Process Engineering, Water Treatment, UV Disinfection, or a comparable technical customer-facing role
• Demonstrated ability to support and influence complex sales opportunities through technical expertise, solution development, system selection, and customer engagement
• Strong knowledge of water treatment, UV disinfection, process systems, industrial applications, or related technologies
• Experience supporting technical proposals, tenders, quotations, and large capital equipment projects
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with customers, consultants, OEMs, channel partners, and internal stakeholders across multiple functions and cultures
• Commercial awareness with an understanding of project profitability, competitive positioning, and customer value creation
• Experience delivering technical presentations, workshops, and training sessions to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Willingness and ability to travel throughout the EMEA region as required
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal
