THE OPPORTUNITY:
We are looking for an Actuarial Pricing, Consultant who is responsible for leading and overseeing all product pricing and technical actuarial activities across the product lifecycle, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and AIA Group standards while delivering sustainable profitability, competitive product solutions, and operational excellence for AIA Vietnam.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product Pricing

  • Lead end-to-end pricing workstreams for new product initiatives, including ideation, business case assessment, product design, pricing, regulatory filing, implementation, and post-launch monitoring.
  • Accountable for ensuring product profitability, competitiveness, and risk management objectives are achieved in line with company strategy.
  • Provide actuarial leadership and recommendations on product design features, customer value propositions, sales strategies, and profitability optimization.
  • Collaborate with Distribution, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Risk Management and Actuarial stakeholders to resolve complex product development issues and drive timely delivery.
  • Present pricing recommendations and business implications to senior management and relevant governance committees.
  • Support the Head of Actuarial Pricing in defining pricing strategy, assumptions, methodologies, and governance standards.

Product Technical

  • Lead the technical actuarial workstream for all individual life products throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Provide actuarial assessment and recommendations relating to premium review, experience monitoring, product enhancement, benefit changes, and customer office requests.
  • Lead actuarial analysis and implementation support for Day 2 items, regulatory changes, and other in-force product initiatives.
  • Assess financial and operational impacts of product changes and recommend optimal solutions balancing customer outcomes, business objectives, and implementation feasibility.
  • Work closely with Product Implementation, Operations, IT, Finance, Risk and Group Actuarial teams to ensure successful deployment of product changes.
  • Serve as the key actuarial expert for product-related technical matters and support management decision making.

Efficiency, Governance and Process Improvement

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across product pricing and implementation processes to enhance efficiency, controls, and turnaround time.
  • Strengthen pricing governance, documentation standards, model controls, and audit readiness.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization within actuarial product development activities.
  • Ensure pricing models, assumptions, and documentation remain compliant with internal governance requirements and regulatory expectations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics or related quantitative discipline.
  • Progressing toward or qualified member of a recognized actuarial professional body is preferred.
  • At least 7 years of actuarial experience, including 3-5 years in product pricing within the life insurance industry.
  • Demonstrated experience leading product development and pricing initiatives from concept through implementation.
  • Experience dealing with regulators and cross-functional stakeholders is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Life Insurance Product Pricing, including profitability analysis, product design, and pricing methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Prophet actuarial modeling and actuarial valuation techniques.
  • Advanced analytical skills with Excel and actuarial data analysis tools; knowledge of VBA, Python, or Power BI is an advantage.
  • Commercial and strategic mindset with the ability to balance customer value, business objectives, and profitability.
  • Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and influencing skills to drive alignment across multiple functions.
  • High level of ownership, accountability, and problem-solving capability, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
