Hungry for an opportunity to leverage your experience and skills in a mission driven health care organization? Do you have the humility and communication skills to provide excellent service to the Butterfly Effects families across the country?
At Butterfly Effects, we are proud to improve the lives of children and families affected by autism spectrum disorder through a family-centric applied behavior analysis (ABA) approach. Our mission is to deliver ABA treatment in partnership with families affected by ASD to foster a more joyous life.
To help us continue to improve the lives of families, we are in search of a QA & Compliance Associate who will work directly under the Manager of QA & Compliance, serving as the Manager's primary right-hand support across audit, grievance, and internal review functions, and assisting in the oversight of the QA & Compliance Coordinator team. The ideal candidate has an eye for detail, sound judgment under pressure, and can appreciate the relationship between rigorous internal data monitoring and identification of barriers to optimal treatment outcomes, which lead to policy/procedure improvement that positively impacts the families we serve.
This is an in-office position located at our Deerfield Beach, FL corporate headquarters.
What Would You Be Doing?

- Lead and support the completion of internal audits, including start of care consents, staff credentialing, supervision ratios, session note audits, individual client file reviews, and staff training compliance
- Lead and support the completion of external audits, including payor audits, coordinating documentation gathering, response timelines, and follow-up items
- Support review and analysis of the grievance log, identifying trends, flagged categories, and escalation needs for leadership visibility
- Assist with internal reviews and investigations (e.g., HIPAA/PHI incidents, breach risk assessments, compliance concerns), including documentation and coordination of findings
- Support the Manager in training and onboarding new QA & Compliance Coordinators on departmental processes and audit protocols
- Compile audit, grievance, and internal review data and assist in reporting project status and data trends to the QA & Compliance Manager and Director
- Serve as a point of escalation and continuity for coordinator-level questions when the Manager is unavailable
- Completion of ongoing medical record requests (client, payor, legal, government) as needed
- Follows all confidentiality and privacy policies of Butterfly Effects and maintains the confidentiality of protected healthcare information (PHI)
What Do You Bring to the Role?
- Bachelor's degree preferred; High School Diploma required
- 2+ years of experience in quality assurance, compliance, healthcare auditing, or a related field preferred
- Prior experience supporting or overseeing the work of others (leads, coordinators, or direct reports) strongly preferred
- Excellent attention to detail for providing accurate documentation and quality reports to agreed deadlines
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills; able to manage multiple concurrent audits, grievances, and reviews
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, spoken and written
- Sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive grievance, audit, and PHI-related matters
- Strong computer and editing skills
- Comfortable working across several business systems (CentralReach, DOMO, Bamboo, LITMOS)
- Moderate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
- Strong analytical skills, able to interpret performance/audit data and communicate recommendations to leadership
