Schedule: Saturday & Sunday | 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
 

Position Overview

Citadel Security USA is seeking a reliable Unarmed Security Officer for a weekend afternoon and evening assignment in Owensboro, KY. This position is responsible for maintaining security awareness throughout assigned areas, performing routine patrols, supporting daily operations, and assisting the shift supervisor as needed.

The selected officer will receive training across the various responsibilities associated with the assignment, including security monitoring and CCTV operations. Flexibility is important, as the officer may provide relief coverage for other team members and assist with changing operational needs.
 

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled interior and exterior rounds to identify security concerns, unusual conditions, or potential safety issues.
• Conduct routine checks of assigned areas and verify that designated locations remain secure.
• Complete off-site security checks as directed by established procedures.
• Monitor CCTV and other available security systems after receiving appropriate training.
• Maintain awareness of activity throughout the assigned area and promptly report concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Provide relief coverage for other officers when staffing needs arise.
• Assist the shift supervisor with routine daily activities and operational assignments.
• Support continuity of security coverage during breaks, absences, or other staffing changes.
• Follow established patrol routes, post orders, and assignment-specific procedures.
• Document relevant observations, incidents, and security activities accurately.
• Communicate important information to supervisors and incoming personnel during shift transitions.
• Handle routine responsibilities with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
• Adapt to different assignment functions as training is completed.
   

Cross-Training & Development

This position includes exposure to multiple aspects of the assignment. Officers may be trained to perform duties such as:

• Interior and exterior patrol operations.
• Off-site security checks.
• CCTV monitoring.
• Routine security inspections.
• Officer relief and coverage procedures.
• Daily operational support.
• Shift communication and reporting.
• Other responsibilities outlined in applicable post orders.
   

Required Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Strong observation and situational awareness skills.
• Ability to remain alert throughout the assigned shift.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Professional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while also supporting the shift team.
• Willingness to learn multiple responsibilities associated with the assignment.
• Ability to successfully complete required background and employment screening.
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous security or patrol experience.
• Experience performing interior or exterior security checks.
• Familiarity with CCTV or video surveillance systems.
• Experience preparing activity logs or incident reports.
• Previous experience providing shift relief or supporting team members.
• Experience working in a role requiring strong attention to detail.
• Prior experience assisting a supervisor or team lead with daily operations.
