Senior Delivery Manager

Senior Delivery Manager | Public Sector Digital Transformation

£60–£80,000 | Largely remote - circa 3 days a month on site in Liverpool

I’m working with a growing digital consultancy looking for a Senior Delivery Manager to take a leading role on a major public-sector transformation programme.

The programme is still early enough for you to have genuine influence, but plenty is already happening. They need someone who can come in, quickly understand a complex delivery landscape and bring structure, momentum and challenge where it’s needed.

This isn’t a role for someone who simply facilitates ceremonies and updates plans.

They’re looking for a dynamic, experienced delivery leader who is comfortable working across multiple teams, dealing with ambiguity and challenging senior stakeholders when something could be done better.

What you’ll be doing

➡️ Leading delivery across multiple teams through Discovery, Alpha and Beta

➡️ Bringing together product backlogs and helping create a consolidated delivery plan across the wider landscape

➡️ Maintaining momentum and actively tackling risks, issues and dependencies

➡️ Working closely with Product Owners, delivery teams and senior stakeholders

➡️ Challenging existing processes and helping teams establish better ways of working

➡️ Providing advice and challenge across wider transformation areas including capability, commercial and operating model

What we’re looking for

✔️ Strong experience leading complex digital delivery environments

✔️ Excellent knowledge of Agile, Lean and hybrid delivery approaches

✔️ Experience working across multiple teams, dependencies and competing priorities

✔️ Strong stakeholder management skills, including the confidence to challenge at senior level

✔️ Comfortable creating structure where the route forward isn’t always obvious

✔️ Someone proactive, commercially aware and genuinely interested in improving how things are delivered

✔️ Public-sector / GDS experience highly desirable

✔️ Previous digital consultancy experience would be a strong advantage

✔️Eligibility to gain SC Clearance is essential

Why it’s interesting

You’re not walking into something where everything has already been decided.

There’s enough structure and momentum already in place, but still plenty of opportunity to influence how delivery works, improve processes and make a visible impact on a major transformation programme.

It suits someone who enjoys the consulting side of delivery: digging into problems, challenging constructively, building trusted client relationships, and making things happen.

Interested? Send a copy of your CV or drop me a message, and I’ll talk you through the programme and opportunity.
