Description
Our clients are a NASDAQ-listed manufacturer of Optical products that are seeking a senior director, indirect procurement for a connectivity business that rely on world class objectives .
As the Director of Indirect Procurement, you will lead, transform, and develop a world-class global Indirect Procurement organization. You will serve as a trusted strategic partner to senior leaders and executive stakeholders, driving enterprise alignment and strengthening trust across a complex, matrixed environment.
In this executive leadership role, you will define and execute a comprehensive global indirect sourcing strategy that optimizes enterprise spend, enhances supplier performance, and mitigates corporate risk. Championing a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability, you will partner closely with Finance and FP&A to deliver measurable savings targets aligned with overarching corporate financial goals.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and develop a high-performing, global Indirect Procurement organization, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and innovation.
- Act as a strategic partner to senior executives and business leaders, ensuring procurement strategies align with broader corporate objectives.
- Drive change management and transformation initiatives to modernise global procurement capabilities.
Sourcing & Category Management
- Define and execute a global Indirect Procurement strategy encompassing category management, strategic sourcing, and contract lifecycle management.
- Lead complex, high-value global negotiations and sourcing initiatives to maximise commercial value and strengthen supplier relationships.
- Leverage market intelligence and industry trends to provide thought leadership, proactively identify market disruptions, and mitigate supply chain risk.
Financial Realisation & Governance
- Partner with Finance and FP&A to establish, track, and deliver annual cost-savings targets that directly impact corporate financial performance.
- Establish and champion procurement policies, standard operating procedures, and compliance frameworks to improve enterprise-wide transparency.
- Optimise enterprise spend by utilizing data analytics and advanced procurement systems to drive visibility and cost efficiency.
Systems & Technology
- Deploy, optimize, and champion procurement technologies—including Source-to-Pay (S2P), e-sourcing, contract management, and spend analytics platforms—to streamline workflows.
Role Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; OR a Master’s degree in a related discipline.
Experience
- Minimum of 20 years of total experience in Procurement.
- 7+ years of leadership experience in senior procurement roles within a global organization, with a proven track record of team development and organizational transformation.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and engage senior executives in complex, matrixed environments to achieve business outcomes.
Core Competencies
- Polished communicator with extensive experience developing and delivering executive-level presentations to diverse audiences.
- Highly collaborative and relationship-oriented, possessing the interpersonal skills required to build trusted partnerships across business units.
- Expertise in supplier negotiation, contract management, and building collaborative, long-term supplier relationships.
- Strong financial acumen with a solid understanding of financial statements, corporate budgetary processes, and business performance drivers.
- Proficiency in data analytics and modern procurement technologies, specifically Power BI, Oracle, and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Haves)
- Advanced professional certifications in Procurement or Supply Chain Management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP).
- Hands-on experience implementing or scaling Source-to-Pay technologies, including e-sourcing tools, Oracle, Coupa, contract lifecycle management (CLM) platforms, or advanced spend analytics software.
- Proven success leading initiatives in sustainability, supplier diversity, or advanced supplier risk management frameworks.
