Position Summary


FSM Group, LLC, an aviation fuel management company with operations across North America, has an immediate opening for an Aircraft Fueler at our Boston airport location.


The Aircraft Fueler safely and efficiently fuels commercial aircraft while ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. This role operates fueling equipment, performs inspections, records fuel data, and coordinates with team members to help ensure on-time airport operations. It is a physically active, outdoor position that emphasizes safety, reliability, and teamwork. 


Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform aircraft fueling and servicing in accordance with established safety procedures using fueling and ground service equipment 
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, team members, and other airport personnel to coordinate safe and efficient operations 
  • Accurately record fueling and fuel dispensing data using company-provided handheld devices 
  • Document flight-related information, including destination and flight number, as required 
  • Conduct routine safety inspections of equipment, including fueling carts and related tools 
  • Operate and handle fueling hoses, carts, and associated equipment in a safe and efficient manner 
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet operational needs

Requirements

  

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess and maintain a valid U.S. driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record in accordance with company standards 
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Ability to maintain reliable transportation to and from the assigned work location
  • Availability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed  
  • Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance 
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and applicable background checks, including federal fingerprinting, in accordance with regulatory requirements 
  • Ability to access all areas of the airport necessary to perform job duties, including secured areas, in compliance with airport and federal regulations 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required government security clearance; employment is contingent upon successful completion of all applicable background checks and clearance requirements as determined by the contracting agency 

Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to address routine operational challenges 
  • Basic mathematical proficiency 
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance guidelines, and procedural manuals 
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English as required to perform job duties and support safe operations in the airport environment, including during emergencies or situations requiring a shared language for safety 
  • Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions 
  • Basic proficiency with computer systems, including data entry and common workplace applications

Physical and Environmental Requirements


This position requires sustained physical effort and consistent exposure to outdoor and potentially hazardous work environments. The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.


Mobility and Access

  • Ability to climb up and down stairs and ladders with 50+ steps and work at heights of 50 feet or more, including high, precarious places 
  • Ability to get in and out of vehicles of varying sizes and heights 
  • Ability to drive and operate vehicles and equipment of various sizes, including automated lifts up to 26 feet 

Lifting and Carrying

  • Frequently lift and carry up to 30 pounds overhead
  • Occasionally lift up to 70 pounds to waist level
  • Ability to shovel materials such as snow, sand, dirt, gravel, or rocks as needed

Standing and Movement

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, crawl, twist, climb, and balance for extended periods of time
  • Perform repetitive physical movements, including bending at the waist and knees, and sustaining awkward or physically demanding positions
  • Capable of climbing and standing on step ladders while performing overhead work, such as connecting fueling hoses

Manual Dexterity

  • Use hands and fingers to handle, feel, grip, and operate tools, equipment, and controls

Sensory Requirements

  • Hear and respond to verbal instructions, environmental sounds, and audible alarms
  • Maintain the following vision capabilities
  • o Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)
  • o Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more)
  • o Color vision (identify and distinguish between colors)
  • o Peripheral vision (see up/down and side-to-side while focused on a central point)
  • o Depth perception (assess distance and spatial relationships)
  • o Ability to adjust focus (sharpen vision at various distances)

Environmental and Working Conditions 

  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind
  • Tolerate frequent exposure to
  • o Moderate to high noise levels (with use of appropriate hearing protection) 
  • o Fumes, airborne particles, and hazardous substances, materials, or waste 
  • o Work near or around
  • o Moving mechanical parts
  • o High-voltage equipment 
  • o Hydraulic and pneumatic systems operating under high pressure
