  • Join a globally renowned financial institution with over 150,000 employees and a presence in more than 50 countries, offering unparalleled opportunities for professional development and international exposure.
  • Be at the forefront of expanding the Client Data Quality Control function across EMEA, embedding best practices and standardised controls that drive consistency and excellence in client data management.

What you'll do:

As an Associate in Client Data Quality Control at MUFG in London, you will be instrumental in driving the expansion of this critical function throughout EMEA. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve conducting thorough reviews of client and regulatory data to ensure its accuracy across multiple business lines. You will work closely with various teams—including Front Office, Compliance, Operations, Technology—and support strategic projects aimed at enhancing the scope of data quality controls. By developing proactive solutions using tools like SQL and leveraging AI technologies such as Microsoft Copilot for analysis and reporting purposes, you will help identify potential issues before they impact business operations. Your role will also include producing insightful reports for senior management that inform prioritisation decisions while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders across departments. Success in this position requires meticulous attention to detail combined with an analytical mindset; you’ll be expected to contribute actively to ongoing improvement initiatives that strengthen MUFG’s reputation for reliable client data management.

  • Support the rollout and expansion of the Client Data Quality Control function across EMEA branches by embedding standardised controls, governance frameworks, processes, and best practices established within the London team.
  • Perform comprehensive Data Quality Control reviews across Client, Regulatory, Relationship, and Industry Classification data including MiFID II, EMIR, Dodd-Frank, NACE, GICS, NAICS, SIC codes as well as External Ratings.
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of client and regulatory data across key systems and repositories by executing robust monitoring activities.
  • Continuously enhance Data Quality Control processes supporting onboarding procedures and client lifecycle management activities to maintain high standards of data integrity.
  • Assist with client and regulatory data investigations by participating in remediation programmes and ongoing quality improvement initiatives that address identified issues.
  • Develop and implement data quality rules using existing tools such as SQL to proactively identify, monitor, and remediate data quality concerns ahead of strategic automated solution delivery.
  • Identify trends in data quality as well as control weaknesses or process gaps; partner with stakeholders to drive remediation through procedural or technological enhancements.
  • Support the establishment and maintenance of Data Quality procedures by executing monitoring controls and validation activities aligned with agreed standards.
  • Produce detailed Management Information (MI), dashboards, and reporting to track data quality performance metrics, remediation progress, control effectiveness, issue trends, and key risk indicators.
  • Analyse data quality metrics to provide actionable insights for senior management decision-making while acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Client and Regulatory Data Quality.

What you bring:

Your proven experience as an Associate in Client Data Quality Control will demonstrate your ability to operate effectively within a complex organisational structure. You bring advanced technical skills—particularly in Excel—and have utilised AI tools like Microsoft Copilot to streamline processes. Your background includes managing large volumes of client/regulatory data within banking or capital markets environments where attention to detail is paramount. You possess strong interpersonal skills that enable you to build dependable relationships across teams while communicating insights clearly. Your analytical mindset allows you to resolve issues creatively yet methodically; you thrive under pressure when managing tight deadlines. A desire for continuous improvement drives your approach as you support cross-functional project teams on transformation initiatives. Whether you hold formal qualifications or have gained expertise through hands-on experience in front office settings or as a subject matter expert on client data matters—your commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes aligns perfectly with MUFG’s values.

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications with advanced Excel skills enabling efficient handling of large datasets for analysis purposes.
  • Strong analytical abilities allowing you to interpret complex sets of data accurately while identifying patterns or anomalies relevant to business needs.
  • Experience utilising AI tools—preferably Microsoft Copilot—to improve productivity through automation opportunities within data analysis workflows.
  • Knowledge of various corporate structures including Financial Institutions and Non-Bank Financial Institutions which supports effective classification during quality control reviews.
  • Problem-solving skills demonstrated through tangible experience running successful data quality control initiatives within complex organisational environments.
  • Regulatory classification knowledge (such as MiFID II or EMIR) is preferred but not essential; willingness to learn is highly valued.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously by completing milestones efficiently without compromising on accuracy or attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills enabling you to convey findings clearly to stakeholders at all levels while fostering positive working relationships.
  • Broad understanding of investment banking products/services across sectors/regions which informs your approach when supporting clients or internal teams.
  • Degree-level education in finance-related subjects (e.g., maths or physics) is beneficial; additional qualifications such as MBA or CFA are advantageous but not mandatory.
