Our Project Managers work closely with field leadership, customers, general contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.
We’re looking for someone who understands the realities of commercial landscape construction and is comfortable balancing project financials, schedules, customer relationships, documentation, and field operations. This is not a desk-only project management position. Our Project Managers stay connected to their projects and work closely with the field teams responsible for delivering them.
What You'll Do
- Manage multiple commercial landscape construction projects from turnover through completion and closeout.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and production plans.
- Monitor project costs, labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and overall financial performance.
- Partner closely with Superintendents and field leadership to coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, and project priorities.
- Review plans, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, and project requirements.
- Manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, purchase orders, and other project documentation.
- Identify scope changes and ensure additional work is properly documented, priced, and communicated.
- Maintain strong relationships and regular communication with general contractors, owners, customers, vendors, and project partners.
- Participate in project meetings and coordinate schedules and requirements with other trades.
- Visit job sites regularly to monitor progress, address challenges, and stay connected to field operations.
- Proactively identify scheduling, cost, production, or coordination issues and work with the team to develop solutions.
- Support procurement and ensure materials and equipment are available when needed.
- Monitor project billing, cost-to-complete, and overall project profitability.
- Help ensure work meets Teufel's expectations for safety, quality, production, and customer service.
- Manage project closeout, including documentation, punch-list completion, and final turnover.
What We're Looking For
- Experience managing commercial landscape construction projects or comparable commercial construction work.
- Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, contracts, schedules, budgets, and project documentation.
- Working knowledge of landscape construction operations, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and field production.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong financial understanding with the ability to monitor project costs, forecasts, and profitability.
- Ability to build productive working relationships with field teams, general contractors, customers, vendors, and internal partners.
- Strong organization, communication, problem-solving, and follow-through.
- Comfortable spending time both in the office and on active construction sites.
