The Associate Software Engineer Student will join the Contact Centre Innovation & Operations (CCIO) team, helping design and deliver innovative solutions that improve the employee and client experience. Working alongside engineers, product owners, AI specialists, and operations teams, the student will contribute to initiatives involving Generative AI, virtual agents, intelligent automation, cloud platforms, contact centre technologies, and digital employee experience solutions.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• Experience with one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Exposure to cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform is an asset.
• Knowledge of REST APIs is an asset.
• Exposure to Generative AI technologies, large language models, prompt engineering, or AI development tools is considered a strong asset.
• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Git, or automation tools is an asset.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Agile delivery team members to build, test, and support innovative digital solutions.
• Contribute to the development of AI-powered applications, virtual assistants, and intelligent automation capabilities.
• Support the integration of cloud-based services and enterprise platforms using modern engineering practices.
• Develop and maintain high-quality, secure, well-documented code and automation solutions.
• Participate in proof-of-concept development, experimentation, and innovation initiatives.
• Analyze business processes and identify opportunities to improve employee experience, operational efficiency, and service delivery through automation & AI.
• Assist with testing, troubleshooting, monitoring, and continuous improvement activities.
• Contribute to engineering best practices including DevOps, automation, AI governance, and software quality.
• Present findings, prototypes, and recommendations to team members and stakeholders.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted for. The Base Pay which you will be considered for will vary depending on the Campus program you are selected for.

Eligible Sun Life employees for various Campus Graduate programs will also participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance
