About Ontic Tewkesbury
Tewkesbury represents an exciting new chapter in Ontic's global MRO journey. Our purpose-built 55,000 sq ft facility in Gloucestershire is our European MRO hub and one of Ontic's dedicated MRO Centers of Excellence.
We're building a team focused on delivering high-quality, OEM-backed repair capability with the consistency and turnaround our customers depend on. That makes Tewkesbury a particularly exciting place to join Ontic: you'll have the opportunity to help shape a growing operation, influence how we work and be part of building something for the future.
If you enjoy change, growth and the opportunity to make a visible impact, you'll find plenty of opportunity here.
The opportunity
We're looking for a Receiving Inspector to join our Quality team at our growing Tewkesbury facility, playing an important role in ensuring the aircraft components and materials entering our operation meet the highest standards of quality, safety and traceability.
You'll be responsible for inspecting incoming components, verifying documentation and identifying potential quality issues before materials are released into stock. Your attention to detail and technical judgement will help protect the integrity of our operations and support our commitment to keeping aircraft flying safely.
Working closely with colleagues across Quality, Engineering, Stores and Procurement, you'll have the opportunity to take ownership of your work, contribute to continuous improvement and make a real impact within a developing aerospace operation.
What you'll be doing
- Inspect incoming aircraft components, parts and materials to ensure they meet purchase requirements, quality standards and approved specifications.
- Verify part numbers, serial numbers, identification markings and supporting documentation to maintain accurate traceability.
- Review airworthiness release certificates, Certificates of Conformity and other documentation to confirm that incoming items meet the required acceptance criteria.
- Carry out visual and dimensional inspections using approved procedures and calibrated equipment.
- Identify, segregate and report damaged, non-conforming or incorrectly documented materials, preventing unsuitable items from entering serviceable stock.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and update relevant quality and inventory systems.
- Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Procurement and Stores teams to resolve discrepancies, support investigations and improve inspection processes.
What you'll bring
- Practical experience in aerospace goods-in, receiving inspection, quality inspection or controlled aviation stores, or equivalent demonstrable competence.
- A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Engineering, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Quality or a related discipline, alongside a good standard of general education.
- The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, part identification, release certificates and traceability documentation.
- An understanding of aerospace quality requirements, including product conformity, traceability and the control of non-conforming materials.
- Strong attention to detail, sound judgement and confidence using inspection equipment, computer systems and Microsoft Office.
- Desirable: Experience working within a UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) or European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Part-145 approved maintenance organisation.
- Desirable: Familiarity with AS9100 quality standards, airworthiness documentation and aviation receiving inspection procedures.
