Description
Before You Apply, Ask Yourself:
- Are you the type of person who picks up the phone to close, not just sends another email and hopes for the best?
- When you see 100 parents in a gym watching their kids play, do you see 100 relationships to build and 100 conversations waiting to happen?
- Can you ask a parent for the registration, then ask again next week if the answer was "not yet"?
- Do you track every lead, every call and every follow-up, so nothing slips through the cracks?
- Do you know basketball well enough that parents trust your read on their kid, and could you step on a court and run a practice if needed?
- Do you care about keeping a family as much as signing one?
- Do you take ownership of outcomes, not just tasks?
If you said "yes" to all of these, keep reading. This role was designed for you.
The Role
Team Esface is hiring a full-time Membership & Sales Manager to own enrollment, retention and growth for TrueLeague, our camps and Neo Prep. You join our Growth & Membership team and report to our Head of Growth & Membership.
TrueLeague, our developmental league, is the front door to Team Esface. Most of our families meet us there. Your job is to fill it, keep those families happy, and guide each athlete to the right next step: training, camps, TrueLeague Select and eventually Black Club.
This is a sales and relationship role, not an operations role. Our operations team and site ambassadors run setup, schedules and logistics. You spend your time with families: on the gym floor, on the phone, and out in the community.
What You Own
This role owns six outcomes. You are measured on results, tracked weekly on your scorecard.
1. TrueLeague Enrollment and Re-Enrollment
Fill every TrueLeague season (fall, winter, spring) and bring families back season to season.
- Work every TrueLeague lead and returning family from first contact to registration
- Run the re-enrollment push before each season: personal calls and texts to every current family, not just a mass email
- Know your division numbers cold: who is registered, who is on the fence, and who still needs a conversation
2. TrueLeague Retention and Family Satisfaction
Keep TrueLeague families happy, connected and coming back. A TrueLeague athlete who moves up to Select or Black Club counts as retained.
- Be the face of Team Esface at TrueLeague: greet families by name, check in on how their athlete is doing, and catch concerns early
- Own the family relationship through the season, from the first practice to the end-of-season check-in
- Explain our development philosophy and equal playing time approach with confidence when parents push back
3. TrueLeague Athletes Training With Us
Turn TrueLeague into a pathway, not a single program. Most TrueLeague families practice twice a week and wonder why progress is slow.
- Build a personal transformation plan for each TrueLeague athlete: goals, current level, and the recommended path to get there
- Present plans to parents and convert them into Transformation Training, clinics and other training
- Side-sell when a family is leaving TrueLeague: training, camps or clinics keep them in our gym
4. Camp Enrollment
Fill Summer Hoop Camp, holiday camps and pop-up camps. Personal target: 30+ net-new camp registrations each summer.
- Build and work a camp prospect list 8 to 10 weeks before each camp: current families, past campers, eval leads and event leads
- Use every TrueLeague shift and community event to put camp in front of families before they sign up somewhere else
- Coordinate outreach timing with our content and marketing campaigns
5. Lead Conversion for TrueLeague, Neo Prep and Camps
Convert inbound interest into enrolled athletes, fast.
- Respond to TrueLeague, Neo Prep and camp leads within our response standard (calls, texts, emails, the main line)
- Book and follow up on evaluations below the Black Club level, and close the families who are a fit
- Hand off Black Club and College Prep-ready families to the right owner with full context, so nothing restarts from zero
6. New Families From the Community
Bring in families who have never heard of us, face to face.
- Show up where families are: school basketball games, community events, our tournament booths and Hometown Days
- Build relationships with school athletic directors, PE teachers and local coaches
- Turn every conversation into a logged lead with a next step
What This Role Is Not
- Not operations. Setup, game film, schedules and facility logistics belong to our operations team and site ambassadors.
- Not a coaching job. You step on court only when a coach is out, so you need to be capable, not full-time on the whistle.
- Not Black Club sales. Our Head of Growth & Membership owns Black Club and College Prep. You feed that pipeline and hand off ready families.
A Typical Week (Example only)
What We're Looking For
Required
- 2+ years of sales experience with a number attached: a quota, a target or an enrollment goal you can tell us you hit
- Comfort picking up the phone and asking for the sale, every day
- Basketball knowledge: you played or coached and can talk player development credibly with parents
- Strong follow-through: you log activity, keep a clean pipeline and follow up on time
- Warm, confident people skills: you build trust fast and close without being pushy
- Proficient with Google Workspace; comfortable learning a CRM and new platforms quickly
- Available Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings every week, with no conflicting day job
- Live within a 30-minute commute of our Redwood City HQ, or willing to relocate closer
Preferred
- Youth sports, camp, membership or education enrollment experience
- Experience with a CRM or a structured sales pipeline
- Community outreach or grassroots recruiting experience
- Knowledge of the Bay Area youth sports landscape
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
Work Environment
This is a full-time, primarily in-person role (some WFH days are typical once KPI's are establihsed) based at Team Esface HQ in Redwood City. It requires evenings Monday, Wednesday and Friday and some weekends during camp season and events. On site, you are on your feet and with families, in Team Esface branded attire and ready to step on court if needed.
Compensation
- Hourly rate: $35 to $45 per hour, based on experience
- Estimated annual compensation: $70,000 to $90,000
- Performance bonus potential tied to Growth & Membership results, with terms set in your offer
- Benefits for full-time staff
Growth Path
We hire on the Alliance model: a clear tour of duty with defined outcomes, honest check-ins, and real investment in your growth. As Team Esface grows toward its own facility, this seat can grow into leading membership across more programs and building a team around it.
About Team Esface

Since 2005 we have served thousands of families through club teams, competitive travel programs, our TrueLeague developmental league, camps, clinics and training. We're a fast-paced, passionate team that loves the game and is committed to making a positive impact. We work hard, play hard, and always look for ways to grow.
