Arlo is looking for a Senior Partner Release and Operations Engineer to make partner releases predictable, well communicated, and operationally reliable. This role combines technical release management, customer-facing coordination, escalation leadership, and hands-on development of the tools and documentation systems that support the Arlo Partner Platform. You will work across Product, Engineering, QA, Operations, and external partners to turn complex release activity into a clear, repeatable operating model.

This role will work with both UK and US time zones, so preference is to be located in the Eastern Time Zone.

We recognize that no candidate meets 100% of the qualifications. If this role excites you, we encourage you to apply even if your experience does not align with every requirement.

 What You Will Do

Partner Release Planning and Change Management

  • Own release schedules for partner-facing APIs, events, device capabilities, integrations, and related platform changes.
  • Coordinate release readiness across engineering, QA, security, operations, product, and partner teams, making dependencies and decision points visible.
  • Define practical change-management processes covering versioning, compatibility, deprecation, partner communications, sandbox validation, and production rollout.
  • Create release notes, changelogs, readiness checklists, migration guidance, and other communications that help partners adopt changes successfully.
  • Manage partner testing and readiness activities before production deployment, including validation of sample applications, integration paths, and operational runbooks.

Escalation and Production Operations

  • Serve as a senior point of coordination for partner-impacting incidents, release blockers, and complex escalations.
  • Bring together the right technical owners, establish clear next actions, and communicate status, mitigations, and expected timelines to partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor release execution and partner-impacting platform health, escalating risks early and helping drive post-release reviews and corrective actions.
  • Identify recurring operational friction and work with engineering teams to improve reliability, observability, documentation, and support processes.

Release Tools, Documentation, and AI Enablement

  • Define and build tools, dashboards, workflows, and internal services that improve release visibility, partner readiness, and operational coordination.
  • Develop documentation and communication tooling that helps teams produce consistent, versioned, searchable partner content.
  • Apply AI-assisted workflows to release analysis, change-impact assessment, release-note generation, incident summaries, and partner communications while preserving review and approval controls.
  • Use structured data, APIs, tool calling, and auditable workflows to connect release systems, issue trackers, documentation, monitoring, and partner-facing surfaces.
  • Measure the effectiveness of release processes and tools, using partner feedback and operational data to guide continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, technical release management, platform operations, technical program management, or a closely related discipline.
  • Experience coordinating software or API releases across multiple engineering teams and external customers, partners, or developers.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, release controls, incident response, versioning, and backward compatibility.
  • Ability to investigate technical issues across APIs, cloud services, integrations, environments, and deployment workflows well enough to coordinate effective resolution.
  • Experience creating technical documentation, release notes, readiness plans, change communications, or operational runbooks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical changes and risk clearly to different audiences.
  • Experience using scripting, APIs, dashboards, workflow automation, or similar tools to reduce manual release and operations work.
  • Ability to work independently in an environment with changing priorities and multiple concurrent releases.

Preferred

  • Experience with B2B SaaS platforms, developer platforms, partner ecosystems, connected devices, or IoT integrations.
  • Experience with release dashboards, status pages, service-management systems, or deployment and observability tooling
  • Experience supporting firmware, mobile, streaming, or event-driven platform releases.
  • Experience building lightweight web applications, internal tools, or automation services.
  • Practical experience applying AI or LLM-based tools to documentation, issue triage, operational analysis, or workflow automation.
  • Familiarity with OpenAPI, REST APIs, event notifications, queues, and common integration patterns.
  • ITIL, PMP, Scrum, or other relevant training or certification.

Key Competencies

  • Partner advocacy: Keeps partner impact visible and turns partner needs into concrete internal actions.
  • Operational judgment: Recognizes release risk early and balances speed, reliability, and communication quality.
  • Technical translation: Makes complex platform behavior understandable and actionable for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Builder mindset: Improves processes by building durable tools and automation, not only by coordinating manual steps.
  • Calm escalation leadership: Creates clarity and momentum during incidents, blockers, and high-visibility releases.
