Job Title
Head of Strategic Projects, APACJob Description
So, who are we?
IG Group is a FTSE 100 fintech operating across five continents, serving over 1.4m customers and handling billions of dollars in transactions – built on scale, trust, and proof. We didn't pivot to innovation; it's how we've always operated. What that means for the people who work here is real: genuinely complex problems to solve, the technology and resources to tackle them properly, and the kind of scope that's rare in established businesses.
The bar is high – bring a curious and forward-thinking mindset and we'll give you the platform to define what comes next.
Join us at IG – the future gets built here.
Your Team:
You will report to the Head of Commercial & Projects, Asia, and sit at the centre of IG's regional commercial agenda. The team shapes how IG grows across existing markets, expands into new ones, improves business economics and evolves our product proposition, working closely with Product, Technology, Finance, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Marketing, Operations and local market leadership.
Your role in the Team's Success:
You will own a portfolio of IG's most important strategic initiatives across Asia and APAC. This is not a traditional PMO role: you will help determine what we should do, as well as make sure it gets done. You will take complex, often loosely defined business problems and turn them into clear strategic choices, executable plans and measurable commercial outcomes. Initiatives may include improving the economics of an existing business, developing new propositions, expanding into new markets or coordinating major cross-functional programmes. You will typically own them from problem definition through business case, stakeholder alignment, execution and benefits realisation.
What you'll do:
- Lead high-priority strategic projects end to end, from problem definition through implementation and measurable business impact.
- Structure ambiguous business questions into clear workstreams, hypotheses, decisions and action plans.
- Build business cases covering revenue potential, contribution economics, investment requirements, operational implications and risks.
- Conduct market, customer and competitive analysis, and assess market and product expansion in terms of attractiveness, regulatory feasibility, licensing and execution complexity.
- Develop launch and transformation roadmaps across Product, Technology, Operations, Marketing, Risk, Legal and Compliance, driving alignment across senior stakeholders and surfacing risks and options early.
- Define KPIs for each project, track performance against the original business case, and help regional leadership prioritise capital, technology resources and management attention.
What You'll Need:
- Significant experience in strategy, transformation, business operations, consulting, corporate development or complex project leadership, ideally within financial services, fintech, brokerage, investing, wealth or another regulated industry.
- Proven ability to take major strategic initiatives from concept through execution and deliver measurable commercial outcomes.
- Strong commercial judgement and analytical skills, including comfort with business cases, unit economics, contribution margin and return on investment.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn unstructured issues into clear frameworks and decisions.
- Strong understanding of APAC markets and the commercial, regulatory and competitive differences across the region.
- Excellent stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders, challenge assumptions constructively and create momentum where ownership is spread across teams. Experience in trading, brokerage, investing, digital assets or capital markets is highly valuable but not essential.
