Senior Engineer, Cloud Delivery

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES / 主 要 职 责 

Alibaba Cloud Solution Design 

• Requirements Analysis & Solution Design: Partner with engineering and delivery teams to translate application and business requirements into Alibaba Cloud target architectures, covering compute, storage, networking, database, middleware, and security services. 

• Configuration Recommendations: Provide recommendations on service selection, sizing, high availability, disaster recovery, and security configuration, and codify them as standardized configuration baselines. 

• Security & Compliance by Design: Embed security controls (least-privilege access, encryption, network isolation, logging and audit trails) into every design, in alignment with Cloud Security, GxP, and Data Integrity requirements. 

 Cloud Implementation & AI-Driven Automation 

• Resource Provisioning & Implementation: Implement and configure Alibaba Cloud resources and environments according to approved designs, supporting delivery teams from build and migration through go-live and handover to operations. 

• AI-Assisted Infrastructure as Code: Use AI tools (e.g., AI coding assistants and LLM-based agents) together with IaC tools such as Terraform and Alibaba Cloud ROS to generate, review, and automate infrastructure build-out, reducing manual effort and configuration errors. 

• Pipelines, Guardrails & Drift Control: Build CI/CD pipelines and policy-as-code guardrails for infrastructure delivery, and continuously verify deployed configurations against baselines to detect and remediate configuration drift. 

 Cross-Team Collaboration & Enablement 

• Delivery Collaboration: Act as the Alibaba Cloud technical point of contact for engineering and delivery teams, resolving implementation blockers and coordinating with Alibaba Cloud support and implementation partners. 

• Technical Enablement & Training: Deliver documentation, tech talks, and hands-on workshops on Alibaba Cloud services, IaC, and AI-assisted automation to drive team self-sufficiency. 

• Reusable Assets & Knowledge Base: Build and maintain a library of reusable IaC modules, templates, architecture blueprints, and runbooks to accelerate future cloud onboarding. 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS & COMPETENCIES

Job requirements

Academic / Professional qualification

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical disciplines. 

• Professional-level public cloud certifications preferred (e.g., Alibaba Cloud ACP / ACE, AWS / Azure / GCP associate or professional); Kubernetes (CKA / CKAD) or HashiCorp Terraform certification is a plus. 

Technical / skill training

• Hands-on training in core public cloud services (Alibaba Cloud / AWS / Azure), including compute, networking, storage, databases, containers (Kubernetes), and IAM. 

• Training in Infrastructure as Code and automation tools such as Terraform, Alibaba Cloud ROS, and Ansible, and in CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins). 

• Practical training in load and performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Locust, k6) and observability tooling (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, CloudMonitor / ARMS) for troubleshooting and tuning. 

Working experience:

Essential

• 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or application delivery, with hands-on deployment experience on at least one major public cloud (Alibaba Cloud preferred) in enterprise environments. 

• Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills across cloud networking, IAM permissions, configuration, and environment issues, with practical experience writing IaC (e.g., Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines. 

• Proven track record of working alongside development, delivery, and Ops teams to take cloud workloads from PoC to production. 

Desirable

• Experience in regulated industries (e.g., pharmaceutical / life sciences) with GxP, Data Integrity, and China cybersecurity compliance requirements (e.g., MLPS 2.0). 

• Experience running technical PoCs or evaluating emerging cloud-native and AI services (e.g., AI runtimes, serverless, service mesh). 

• Experience in pre-launch performance benchmarking and tuning across compute, storage, database, and API layers. 

Language ability

• Strong professional working proficiency in English and Chinese, capable of cross-border collaboration, writing technical documentation, and communicating technical solutions to global stakeholders. 

Others

• Strong cross-functional communication and problem-solving skills, able to work effectively with development, delivery, Ops, and vendor teams. 

• High sense of ownership and delivery focus, a hands-on “get it working” attitude, a compliance-aware mindset, and continuous passion for learning emerging cloud and AI technologies.
