Description
Refrigerated freight pays better than dry, and on this fleet you never unload a trailer. Drivers haul reefer loads through the East and Midwest, average $1,300 to $1,500 a week, and come home every two weeks. We are hiring in Levittown, Bristol and across Lower Bucks County. New CDL graduates get paid training. Experienced drivers start solo.
Numbers first
- Average weekly pay: $1,300 to $1,500
- Solo miles: at least 1,900 a week, and up to 2,500 or more
- Short loads: $75 extra, and $100 on most short runs in Pennsylvania and New Jersey
- Monthly performance bonus
- Training pay: $650 a week
- New solo drivers: $1,000 weekly guarantee for the first 3 months
A week on this fleet
You haul refrigerated freight on regional lanes across Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, the Carolinas, Georgia, Tennessee, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois. The freight is no-touch: you back in, wait for the dock crew, and roll out. Miles stay steady because refrigerated freight moves every week of the year.
If you are new
Training lasts 3 to 5 weeks, about 200 to 250 hours, with a mentor in the truck. You earn $650 each week. You need a completed truck driving school of at least 120 hours. After sign-off you get your own tractor.
If you are experienced
With 6 months or more of recent tractor-trailer time, you skip training and run solo after orientation. Driving teams are welcome too, and teams typically run 3,000 to 4,000 miles a week.
Orientation
Two days or less, paid at $300 once you are hired. Bus fare to get there is reimbursed with a receipt.
Truck and extras
- Late-model tractors about 1.5 years old on average
- Automatic and 10-speed transmissions
- One approved dog up to 40 pounds after training
- Adult rider program for solo drivers

Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL and at least 21 years old
- No more than 2 moving violations in 2 years
- No DUI or DWI in 10 years
- DOT physical and hair and urine drug test
