We are looking for a Quality Improvement Coordinator to oversee and enhance the quality of adult education, careers guidance, assessment and employability services. This is an opportunity to use your Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) expertise to improve delivery standards, strengthen compliance and support better outcomes for adult learners and participants.
You will work closely with tutors, assessors, employability teams and subcontracted providers, offering professional guidance and constructive challenge to drive continuous improvement.
About the Organisation
Our client is an established education and training provider delivering adult skills, accredited qualifications, careers guidance and employability programmes. The organisation works across a range of directly delivered and subcontracted provision, supporting adults to develop their skills, access employment and progress into further learning.
About the Role
As Quality Improvement Coordinator, you will lead quality assurance and improvement activity across adult provision, including government-funded skills and employability contracts.
Your responsibilities will include:
-
Planning and undertaking Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) sampling across assessors, qualifications and assessment methods.
-
Observing assessment practice, reviewing assessment decisions and providing constructive feedback.
-
Leading standardisation activities to maintain consistent assessment practices and standards.
-
Coordinating external quality assurance visits and addressing awarding organisation recommendations.
-
Conducting teaching, learning and assessment observations, learning walks and learner work reviews.
-
Monitoring careers guidance and employability provision against the Gatsby Benchmarks and matrix Standard.
-
Reviewing the quality of participant journeys across employability programmes, from initial engagement through to employment and progression.
-
Monitoring compliance with DWP and DfE funding requirements, eligibility criteria and contract evidence.
-
Analysing performance data and outcomes to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective action.
-
Supporting preparation for Ofsted inspections, funder audits and contract compliance reviews.
-
Monitoring the quality of subcontracted provision and contributing to provider performance reviews.
-
Leading self-assessment and quality improvement planning across adult and employability provision.
-
Reviewing learner, participant and employer feedback to improve service delivery.
-
Preparing quality reports and presenting findings to senior management and relevant governance groups.
-
Supporting staff development through coaching, mentoring and targeted CPD.
-
Maintaining accurate quality assurance records and investigating assessment appeals, complaints and suspected malpractice.
The Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role, you will have experience of quality assurance and improvement within adult education, Further Education, employability or skills and training.
You will also need:
-
A Level 4 Internal Quality Assurance qualification, such as the Award or Certificate in Leading the IQA of Assessment Processes and Practice, or an accepted equivalent.
-
An assessor qualification such as CAVA, TAQA or a recognised legacy qualification.
-
A relevant teaching qualification.
-
Level 2 English and Maths qualifications, or equivalent.
-
Experience of IQA sampling, standardisation and reviewing assessment decisions across multiple assessors.
-
Experience of observing teaching, learning and assessment and providing developmental feedback.
-
Knowledge of awarding organisation requirements, Ofsted expectations and quality improvement processes.
-
Understanding of DWP and DfE-funded provision, including funding, eligibility and evidence requirements.
-
Strong analytical, reporting, communication and organisational skills.
-
Good IT skills, ideally including Power BI, ProMonitor or similar management information systems.
Knowledge of careers guidance, the Gatsby Benchmarks, matrix Standard, subcontracted provision and the West Yorkshire labour market would be advantageous.
