ACTUARIAL MODELLING ANALYST – P&C PRICING – BERMUDA – 10% TAX – HR105

About this opportunity

Our client is one of the largest reinsurers in the world. Through its global locations worldwide, it transacts all lines of property & casualty and life & health reinsurance.

We are currently seeking applicants for their Actuarial Modelling Analyst position.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Analyse, model and price new business opportunities and existing book in accordance with group and local guidelines
  • Develop and customize pricing models and assumptions for various lines of business in various geographical locations
  • Effectively perform catastrophe-modelling using vendor- and in-house developed models and resolve any occurring issues
  • Conduct loss feasibility analysis to validate modelled results
  • Provide technical pricing and further actuarial support to the Underwriting Team by sharing knowledge and making recommendations
  • Implement modelling assumptions accurately in the modelling process, ensuring correct results to quantify the Company’s catastrophe loss potential
  • Provide input for exposure management and portfolio steering of the Company
  • Support Head of P&C Actuarial with regulatory filing and other reporting requirements
  • Actively contribute to complex projects through collaboration and recommendations for effective problem solving and analysis
  • Assist in the development and further improvement of tools to automize and improve department efficiency

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, mathematics, economics or actuarial science
  • Working towards an Actuarial certification with a minimum of three (3) years actuarial experience in Property & Casualty pricing
  • Profound knowledge in the usage of natural catastrophe models from Verisk (AIR)
  • Experience in validation of third-party Nat Cat models
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of applications and SQL
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Willingness to work additional hours as needed to meet business objectives
