Physician - Pediatric Nephrologist, Helen DeVos Children's Hospital, Grand Rapids, MI (0.5FTE)

Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital (HDVCH), a nationally recognized tertiary pediatric center, is seeking an additional part-time Pediatric Nephrologist at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level to join our expanding and highly collaborative Division of Pediatric Nephrology. This is an outstanding opportunity to practice within a comprehensive, academically engaged program that prioritizes patient- and family-centered care while advancing innovation, education, and research.

Position Overview

This is a full-time faculty position with a balanced mix of inpatient, outpatient, academic, and leadership opportunities. Candidates with interest and experience in leadership will have the opportunity to be considered for a Medical Director role in either Pediatric Dialysis or Pediatric Kidney Transplantation, depending on expertise and programmatic fit.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Full-time clinical role with inpatient and consult coverage every fourth week

• When not on inpatient service, 5–6 half-day clinics per week, including opportunities for:

  • Outreach clinics

  • Telemedicine

• Practice within a well-supported multidisciplinary care model, including:

  • Dedicated clinic and dialysis nurses

  • Transplant coordinators

  • Social workers

  • Dietitians

  • Pharmacists

  • Research coordinators

• Access to a full spectrum of advanced nephrology therapies and procedures, including:

  • Acute and chronic hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis

  • Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT)

  • Plasmapheresis and lipid apheresis

  • Kidney transplantation

  • Aquapheresis (coming soon)

Academic and Educational Environment

• Academic appointment through Michigan State University

• Active participation in:

  • Pediatric resident education

  • Medical student teaching

• Required Bachelor's Degree

• Physician (MD) or (DO) - Michigan Medical License

• BE/BC - Pediatric Nephrology
