The Position
Our manufacturing and logistics departments operate as a cohesive, global network dedicated to driving supply performance and instrument production across international locations. This dynamic environment relies on seamless coordination, innovative productivity strategies, and continuous improvement to ensure that our operations remain reliable and efficient. By balancing short-term operational execution with mid-term predictability, the team directly impacts our global supply success.
We are looking for a Detailed Scheduler to act as the primary coordination point between planning and the shop floor. In this role, you will be the key executor responsible for transforming production plans into feasible, executable sequences of tasks for our manufacturing resources. Your primary mission will be to optimize resource utilization, minimize non-productive time, and ensure strict production adherence to meet all delivery targets.
The Opportunity:
You have the ownership of the short-term production schedule involving defining precise start and end times for all batches and production orders across assigned work centers. Furthermore:
Act as a key architect for detailed scheduling processes, driving the evolution and harmonization of scheduling practices beyond local work centers to establish a standardized, network-wide approach
Lead the design and continuous refinement of constraint modeling within OMP, ensuring that all variables, such as machine capabilities, labor skills, and material flow—are accurately mapped to guarantee feasible and highly optimized scheduling
Sequence manufacturing orders optimally within OMP, balancing material availability, capacity constraints, quality requirements, and overall delivery deadlines
Managing and assigning specific resources, including machines, test equipment, labor capacity, and tools, ensures a balanced workload and prevents bottlenecks
Minimizing non-productive time is achieved through the active management and optimization of the scheduling sequence
Rapid, cross-functional efforts are led by this role to resolve real-time shop floor bottlenecks and scheduling conflicts in direct collaboration with Production Supervision
Collaboration with production planning, global supply chain, or global customer support allows for the seamless management of supply shortages
Serving as the primary operational contact bridges the gap between the Master Production Planning team and the Shop Floor supervision
Act as a key contributor to system enhancements and change management for the SAP S/4HANA rollout and OMP, which includes co-creating scheduling KPIs and driving continuous improvement initiatives
Who You Are:
You have a university degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field, alongside practical experience in Detailed Scheduling or Production Control within a globally operating manufacturing network/ environment. Furthermore:
Hands-on experience with OMP is essential (or strong proficiency in similar Advanced Planning and Scheduling software)
Solid understanding of shop floor execution logic and strong analytical problem-solving skills under pressure
Proven experience working within the SAP S/4HANA framework or similar major system/planning transformations is highly desirable, showing your ability to navigate complex planning structures.
Fluency in English and very good expertise in the local language of your location are necessary to effectively communicate requirements, priorities, and constraints to diverse stakeholders
A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset enables you to take full ownership of your area, drive efficiency, optimize costs, and maintain a resilient, adaptable approach through major organizational transformations
Success in this role requires a solutions-oriented and conflict-competent approach, a "One Network" collaborative mindset, strategic thinking to translate high-level goals into operational tasks, and a strong commitment to continuous improvement
