Description
The Department of Nursing at Calvin University invites applications for part-time instruction in the area of Community Health Nursing. The appointment will be for the fall and spring semesters, beginning September 1, 2025.
Requirements
-A commitment to the Christian faith and a willingness to integrate that faith into classroom teaching and student development is essential. Candidates are expected to affirm the Apostle’s Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed .
-A master’s degree or above in nursing is required; applicants who also have five or more years of experience in community health nursing will be preferred.
-All applicants must demonstrate the ability to teach in a variety of clinical settings.
-An active nursing license in the state of Michigan.
ABOUT THE NURSING PROGRAM
The Nursing Department is situated within the broader School of Health at Calvin University. The Nursing Department uses a community-based philosophy that educates students to provide care for persons as they move between home and health care systems. Students have robust learning experiences in four urban, ethnically diverse, underserved neighborhoods. Faculty scholarly agendas include community-based participatory research CBPR) on depression/anxiety, unintended pregnancy, pain management, interprofessional education, and simulation outcomes.
