About the Role
We are looking for a Cost Accountant to join our team and play a key role in supporting financial analysis and business decision-making.
In this position, you will be responsible for analyzing product and manufacturing costs, monitoring profitability and cost variances, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial information in accordance with applicable accounting, tax, and company standards.
You will work closely with Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain, providing meaningful financial insights, identifying cost improvement opportunities, and supporting actions that contribute to the achievement of the company’s financial and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and explain key variances between actual results, budget, and forecasts.
- Analyze cost absorption related to materials, direct labor, and manufacturing overhead.
- Monitor and evaluate product and business profitability, identifying trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Prepare and analyze Sales and COGS reports by business unit to support financial and operational decision-making.
- Review and validate sales prices and transfer pricing for intercompany transactions.
- Analyze Bills of Materials (BOM) and assess their accuracy and impact on manufacturing costs.
- Support the month-end closing process, including the review and validation of accounting entries and provisions related to warranties, inventory obsolescence, and royalties.
- Analyze Purchase Price Variances (PPV) and inventory adjustments, providing clear explanations and recommendations to management.
- Lead the annual standard cost update process, ensuring accurate and consistent product costing.
- Participate in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts, particularly for manufacturing costs and inventory.
- Partner with Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain to provide financial analysis and insights that support strategic and operational decisions.
