WHAT WE NEED

Franciscan Health is looking for an analytically curious problem-solver who wants to go beyond reporting the numbers and help uncover the story behind them.

The Senior Labor Structure and Cost Analyst will join our Compensation Center of Excellence and use workforce, financial, productivity, and organizational data to identify trends, investigate variances, and uncover the factors driving labor cost. From wage variance and workforce structure to span of control, staffing mix, vacancies, and budget alignment, this role connects data across the organization to help leaders better understand what is happening, why it is happening, and where opportunities may exist.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys asking the next question, finding patterns others may miss, and turning complex data into meaningful business insights.

WHO WE ARE

Franciscan Health is a leading healthcare organization dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and promoting health and wellness in our communities. With 11 ministries and access points across Indiana, Franciscan Health is one of the largest Catholic healthcare systems in the Midwest. We take pride in hiring coworkers who support our healing ministry and the communities we serve.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

  • Turn data into insight. Analyze wage and labor costs to identify trends, variances, anomalies, and potential root causes, not simply report results.

  • Connect the dots. Bring together compensation, workforce, financial, budget, productivity, vacancy, and organizational data to develop a more complete picture of labor performance.

  • Shape smarter workforce structures. Evaluate span of control, organizational layers, management ratios, job mix, hierarchy, and other structural measures against established benchmarks.

  • Dig into labor cost drivers. Examine wages, premium labor, overtime, differentials, traveler utilization, staffing mix, vacancies, cost-center alignment, and position-to-budget relationships.

  • Build meaningful analytics. Develop models, scenarios, dashboards, and repeatable analytical tools that help transform complex workforce information into actionable insights.

  • Investigate the “why.” Look beyond the initial variance to help distinguish compensation-related impacts from budget, staffing, productivity, operational, or structural factors.

  • Partner across the organization. Work with Compensation leadership and collaborate with Finance, Productivity, Human Resources, and operational subject matter experts to validate data and strengthen analysis.

  • Support decisions that matter. Translate complex findings into clear visualizations, summaries, and executive-level materials that help leaders understand risks, opportunities, and potential actions.

  • Help build the future. Contribute to the continued development of an integrated workforce analytics capability within the Compensation Center of Excellence.

If you are someone who sees a variance and immediately wants to know “why?”, enjoys finding connections across seemingly unrelated data, and can turn analysis into a story leaders can act on, this may be the opportunity for you.
