Production Supervisor, Night Shift
Toronto, Ontario
Job Summary
Hamilton Kent is looking for a motivated and professional Night Shift Production Supervisor to lead our manufacturing operations during the night shift at our Toronto plant. In this role, you'll be responsible for overseeing our fabrication, injection molding, compression molding, and extrusion operations, ensuring production targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
As a key member of the leadership team, you'll drive continuous improvement initiatives, optimize production performance, support maintenance and operational planning, and help create a safe and productive work environment.
Shift: Sunday to Thursday, 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM
Principle Responsibilities
Lead and support the production team to ensure daily manufacturing schedules are met while maintaining quality standards and budget targets.
Promote and enforce all health, safety, and environmental policies to maintain a safe and efficient workplace.
Identify production, quality, and performance issues and develop corrective action plans to address variances and drive improvement.
Monitor key performance indicators and downtime metrics, providing management with timely updates on significant changes or concerns.
Collaborate closely with Lead Hands to optimize production performance and address safety, quality, and operational challenges.
Proactively review daily production schedules to effectively plan labour, raw material requirements, and machine utilization across fabrication and molding operations.
Participate in daily performance reviews with the Plant Manager and fellow Supervisors to assess results, address variances, and ensure production goals remain on track.
Oversee fabrication, extrusion, and molding departments while maximizing labour efficiency and ensuring production priorities are achieved.
Work collaboratively with production employees to identify and implement machinery, equipment, and tooling improvements that enhance safety, productivity, and overall plant performance.
Assist the Maintenance Manager with purchasing spare parts as required.
Support continuous improvement efforts focused on safety, product quality, production output, housekeeping, and cost control to help achieve plant objectives.
Required Skills/Qualifications
College or University education preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing or a related industry.
Experience in a rubber or plastics manufacturing environment is considered a strong asset.
Ability to use, or be trained on, various measuring tools related to gasket manufacturing processes.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
Mechanical aptitude and an interest in manufacturing processes and equipment.
Self-motivated, results-driven, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
The compensation for this position is between $64,800 and 81,000 CAN annually, based on experience and qualifications.
