PASTRY COOK I 

The Four Seasons Resorts Lāna’i is looking for a Pastry Cook I who shares a passion for excellence and who infuses enthusiasm into everything they do. Our teams have the opportunity to shape our guest experience by providing exceptional knowledge of the Resort and exemplifying the Golden Rule in each interaction. Work authorization required. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

The Pastry Cook I prepares high-quality pastries, desserts, breads, cakes, and specialty baked goods while ensuring consistency, food safety, and presentation standards. This role supports daily pastry and bakery production, maintains a clean and organized work environment, and assists in training junior team members in a fast-paced kitchen setting. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:     

• Prepare and produce high-quality pastries, desserts, breads, and baked goods in accordance with established recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines while maintaining proper mise en place and station readiness 

• Independently manage an assigned pastry/bakery station, supporting daily production needs and collaborating with the pastry team to ensure efficient service and consistent product quality 

• Operate, maintain, and properly clean pastry and bakery equipment, including ovens, mixers, proofers, dough sheeters, steamers, food processors, and slicers 

• Manage inventory and product freshness by maintaining par levels, rotating stock, labeling and dating products, monitoring storage temperatures, and identifying shortages or production needs 

• Control food costs by minimizing waste, monitoring product usage, and following established inventory and portion-control procedures 

• Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work environment in compliance with sanitation, safety, and company standards

WHAT TO BRING 

• Successful candidate must possess legal work authorization in United States 

• The hospitality business functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four (24) hours a day and scheduled days and times may vary based on need. Holidays and weekends availability is required. 

• Required by the Hawaii State Department of Health to obtain a Tuberculous (TB) clearance card   

• Hawaii Food Handler’s Card and ServSafe is required for this role 

• Hawaii Driver’s Licence/Drivers Abstract is required 

• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 70 lbs, and push/pull as needed during shifts
